Well, having moved here a few months ago, we'd heard it was the best chippy for miles! As such, I really wanted to like the place, and because it's the only chippy that's local. We've given it a fair crack with at least four visits, but no! It's bland at best. The cod fish fillet tonight was overcooked and dry. Generally, the fish has very little flavour anyway. The chips are generally OK. The cod fishcake - I struggled to find the cod, so at best, I can describe it as a battered (why?) deep-fried unseasoned potato ball. (The fish cakes I've had in my many years are always breadcrumbed!) The scampi wasn't anything to write home about, and we've previously tried burgers, where the meat patty was probably reheated in a microwave as it was brittle and dry, salvaged only by my adding onion, and tomato!! But at least it wasn't undercooked! It's a shame the Major Plaice, Ewell, is so far away now!

Not sure what has happened to Seine Rigger or is it Deep Blue? It seems a change of ownership has led to a significant deterioration of quality. Fish less fresh and the chips were hard. Such a shame, was by far the best fish and chips before!

Was looking forward to a good fish supper until I opened the bag fish so overcooked it was nearly black. Had I wanted a cremated supper I would have asked for one Will not be going back again

Without doubt the best chippy around I’ve lived here 30 years plus and tried them all but non comes close !!!

I’d heard great things about Seine Rigger. We tried it for the first time a month or so back and were disappointed (no choice of fish, fish and chips soggy and tasteless). It was busy so we put it down to that.I thought I’d give them another try today. At 7pm they told me they couldn’t take my order as they’d run out of chips!That’s it- never again! They must be living on past glories. Such a shame!

Nice staff, nice food, clean and tidy but i felt as if I'd been mugged, i paid just over £20 last month, tonight the same food order was £33. 50% increase over all is not funny.
