You will have to go far to find such an obnoxious rude manager in the restaurant. It's such a shame because the previous evening we enjoyed a great meal and made a point to thank and leave a good tip for Our attentive and pleasant waitress. Breakfast the next morning was exactly the opposite. We walked into the restaurant at exactly the time booked, to be snapped at by a male waiter to wait behind the rostrum. We apologised and went back and waited more than a few minutes to be seated.Upon sitting at our allocated table I explained that we were expecting our family and would need another table or two for 6 people. He rudely barked that he couldn't fit them in as there was not the tables available. I simply raised the fact that there were 3 empty tables or an alcove just behind us with 3 tables, albeit has a few chairs stacked in there as well.He literally barked " could I not see the chairs" .I told him there was no need to raise his voice or be rude, I was only asking. He told me to leave he was not going to serve me. I asked for the manager, to which he replied he was the manager and leave. The irony is my son in law arrived a few minutes later walked into the restaurant and asked for 2 tables and was seated immediately, perhaps the manager realised how rude he had been.Started off at 10/10 finished at 1/10.

Lovely place to eat, the staff were amazingly friendly and the food was hot and came really fast. We ate in the bar next to the windows which was nice. The only down side was that the burger we had was a bit on the greasy side. I was starving after a long drive so not a deal breaker but could definitely be improved. also, the drains were smelly so if you sat near the loo or went to the loo you got a proper awful whiff. The main bar and restaurant though were nice and clean.

Very old half timbered building with a large beer garden at the front. Inside is pleasant and food is standard brewers fare menu. Despite being busy food arrived quickly and was pleasantly hot and nicely cooked.

Loved it!!! Had a lovely family meal. Myself, parents and my 20month old daughter. Food was tasty and well cooked. Service was perfection, Jackie was friendly, hospitable and nothing was too much trouble for her. When she heard it was my birthday she went above and beyond to make it special. If Jackie is serving we will definitely be back. She is a credit to the restaurant.

Popped in for a cuppa and a lunch, but they apparently don't do lunch menus at the moment (it's a Friday, and not a bank holiday!)🤷🏻‍♂️ And despite there being hoardings up outside advertising it, and no specific alternative/notice saying so there wasn't a lunch 'deal' to be had. So, we had to order from the main menu, which is more expensive, the food itself and service was however good and tasted fine. (Classic pub food!)👍🏻I would recommend taking a baby wipe for your table (everything was sticky, but the table itself did appear to be clean. Apparently it's to do with the chemicals they use when cleaning! 🤷🏻‍♂️) In my opinion, they do need to resolve that issue.Another plus was that they accept blue light cards (for front line workers) so there was a bit of a discount in the end. 🙃

The staff were very welcoming and accommodating especially Vicky. Forgot to take a picture of my dinner. The steak was lovely, but managed to get one of the dessert.

Visited whilst staying at the adjacent Premier Inn, service was excellent and the food exceptional as always - although BBQ Ribs weren't as tender as normal.Steak cooked beautifully and all presented to a great standard!Overall a million times better than our stay in the Premier Inn (see review)

It was very disappointing.Chairs and tables dirty, very dirty.Signature salad with grilled chicken and parmezan shavings was very disappointing, it was cold ( fridge temperature) , stale, and the only fresh thing on that plate was the chicken, let's not forget that the parmezan was not shavings, it was a wedge. The seaside potatoes are disgusting, those things are not potatoes, it's all mush in a batter soaked in oil.Lamb chops are small and if you say to have them pink prepare yourself as they'll still be kicking.I'm sorry but apart of the mint sauce, triple cooked chips and chicken breast, nothing else was eatable.

A great place to stay on the way down to the coast. We have visited numerous times over the last ten years, I love the way it looks different to other premier inn's. The beefeater restaurant does really good food, it's best to prebook as it does get busy. Breakfast was fantastic, everything looked to perfection, there were empty plates all round, our waitress Jackie did a great job looking after us, can't wait to come back
