We came across this lovely place by accident. Stopped to eat and had the best experience. Staff were really friendly and discussed the menu with us. The food was excellent and please give our compliments to chef and kitchen staff. We will definitely be back on a regular basis. What a little gem this place is.

I always appreciate a place with history, and this place has a few hundred years under its belt. Quite modern now though, although a few original wooden beams still seem to help prop the place up. Large indoor and outdoor areas, so it's not really going to be a problem finding a table. We ate dinner here, and the following day had Sunday lunch. Both meals very enjoyable, a lovely casual atmosphere where everyone is welcome, food quality and portion-size were very agreeable. Lots of happy chatter going on around us - always a good sign. If I had to be difficult, I would say that at times table service was slow and we had to get the attention of staff to request desert menus, as no one came to our table even after it has been cleared after the main course. But the place was busy, and maybe some staff had called in sick - it happens. But a great place, really friendly staff and patrons alike. We'll definitely be going back, I hope a few times!

We were 3 adults and a dog. The pub's dog friendly areas are extremely dog friendly. There is a dining room without dogs for those who prefer to dine without 4 legged companions nearby. The dog was well cared for by staff and the service for humans was speedy and excellent despite the pub being very busy. Our food was very tasty, well executed and fresh. The burger was huge and superb. The duck salads fresh and bursting with flavour and the pasta had just the right kick and texture. Lovely, warm traditional interior. Worth a trip.

The food was absolutely superb, with presentation to match ! So many lovely dishes to choose from .There were 5 adults and 3 children with us. We all had different dishes and they all looked incredible. Everyone enjoyed what they ate too. The deserts are just the best! The service we received was spot on. Thank you to everyone at The Ramblers Rest.

Absolutely brilliant! Booked a table for my birthday meal. On arrival we asked if we could change tables to allow us to bring the dog and it was no trouble at all for the staff. Quick service, tasty food with lots of variety. Staff were lovely. Would really recommend to anyone in the area. Thanks 🙏

Nice pub, hard working staff and good food but shame about the parking. We saw one car hit another while parking and came out after lunch to find ours had also been hit. Place is just SO busy with diners, drinkers and ramblers on a sunny day.

Very nice setting, lovely decor and the food was delicious, comparable to a top class restaurant. Dog friendly, can eat in the bar area or in the large garden. Will definately return. Well done Ramblers much improved.

Popped in for the first time in a couple of years for a summer evening pint. Lovely courtyard garden but more importantly, the staff were superb. Very friendly and professional. We enjoyed it so much, we’re going back for a lunchtime meal tomorrow.
