Would give 5 stars 🌟 if we could grab the waiters attention without waiting for a long long long time.I like how the restaurant was decorated. The food was amazing.I had the Pork Belly and my friend had the Trinity Cheese Burger 🍔 . They are both nice. Except for the fries. I love the pork belly and definitely come back for it.The drinks came out fast. The waiter gave us cutlery without the napkins and we had to wait for awhile until we could grab the waiter attention to give us some even thought the place was quite since we visited at 4pm. 2 mains 2 drinks for 2 people, from arrival until finished took us 1 hour and 40 minutes. It took forever until we gave up on trying to get attention from the 4 waiters so we had to go to the bar and pay.Recommend if you visit Battle, want good food and have a handful of time 🙃

We tried this resturant again tonight as we haven't been since lockdown the food was OK ish the staff were lovely apart from the lady who seemed to he incharge that came across rather off putting and to be honest scruffy appearance in trainers and jeans no uniform I found it very ammerterish and tbh if your charging more money I would expect there to be more uniformity and I don't want to hear about the customer that's complaining because you forgot part of their order I heard everything the boss /manager needs to look like the boss unfortunately we won't be returning well done to the staff but you need to need to spend some money on uniform and training

Highly annoying! We stopped here for some lunch to check out if it was any different to whites which we had enjoyed many times before at this location. The staff were friendly and polite but did feel a little rushed when ordering drinks and disappointed that they do not stock diet lemonade ( I am diabetic) . I looked through the menu and ordered the chowder and the pork belly a starter and main for 16.50 both of which I’ve had when it was whites so thought it would probably be nice and both were nice ! when my husband came to pay the bill we’d been charged full price from the main menu and not the lunch menu, my husband questioned this and was told you have to specify( and made to feel a little bit silly ! ) when ordering as the lunch plates are smaller than the standard dishes. In my experience a lunch deal menu is just selected items from the main menu. No apology was offered. We fully expect to have a rude response after reading feedback from the manager which probably sums it up ! such a shame but we won’t be returning !

Firstly, the food was brilliant. It always has been here, and I would go back to eat it again. When we arrived we were served and our order was taken very quickly. Sadly, after we had ordered it became apparent there was a specials board that no one had mentioned. Upon seeing it there were dishes we would have chosen first, but we didn't see it on the way in. Not the end of the world, but would have been nice to have been told.Once underway, our initial drinks, starters and mains all came out fairly swiftly.Sadly from then on, the service was a little ropey. Everyone was very friendly, but there seemed to be a bit of a lack of experience and once we had our mains we felt a little forgotten about. It had gotten a lot busier since we arrived, but the staff still had plenty of opportunities to serve us but didn't. It took a very long time for our mains to be cleared, and a long time again for us to be given dessert menus. Eventually we decided we didn't want to have to wait as long again to for desserts or potentially wait for the bill, so I went to the bar and paid so we could leave. All in all, it's a lovely venue and the food is excellent. Sadly the service was lacking this time round, but having had better experiences in the past I would give the service team the benefit of the doubt for now. I hope to return in future and be proven wrong as the restaurant is a great asset to the town.

Very attentive young staff serving at table. Good food. Especially the black currant cheesecake - best anywhere we have had in many years. Sensible size portions and fair price.

I was utterly delighted by the Crispy Calamari, which was so light, crispy, perfectly seasoned with a tasty little salad mix on the side, followed by an equally delicious baked goats cheese tart with another fresh and very tasty salad. The warm chocolate brownie with honeycomb ice cream was to die for, just a bit big for one, so it was ideal that we were sharing it.The pretty waitress Lillie was also delightful, very friendly and very attentive. Full praise indeed!

Great restaurant good service good menu and reasonable price.I had a good visit here Saturday night I made a reservation by telephone and arrived and was seated.Good choice of drinks and lots of Gin and Tonics available. Plenty of specials and I enjoyed a calamari starter which was delicious.I had pork belly for main course and my partner had mixed moules with seafood. Good oysters and a good overall experience. Nice location with well designed table and dining area.

Booked this beautiful restaurant a few weeks before we came & so glad we did as they were having to turn people away on the night. Very welcoming on arrival & even moved us (lucky for us) as we felt a bit in the middle of the room & tbf our seafood platter starter was taking up ALL the room on the table, great choice as it was FAB highly recommend, our mains did not disappoint either tho I didn’t manage to eat it all so husband finished it, the mash was to die for as was the pork belly 😋 he had the meat box & loved it all.Defo did not have room for pud but ordered the affogato & 2 spoons & the chocciest chocolate fudge came with it.Massive shout out to the very busy & very hard working staff, you are all a credit to the restaurant, fab food, fab bar selection & fab evening, Thankyou for having us

initially I booked to attend Whites in the Old Town. the lady on the phone said that it was booked up until late so suggested the new one in Battle. This was a good decision as the parking is easier and has a more contemporary feel to the place. From the waitress the place has been opened for about 8 month now. it has a funky old-school style to the place and with various lamps made and out of bazaar items (which you can buy). there were 3 staff who all seemed well adverse to the menu, wine list and ran of well rehersed service. the menu choice has a wide array of food. if seafood isn't your thing then there is more than that on offer, including steak you cook yourself on a rock. the prices were reasonable and the portion sizes plentiful. a good selection of wines and drinks were available and again for good prices. we started off with king prawns and mussels. the prawns were a good size and were plated with a fresh salad. water was provided automatically with our drinks which was a nice touch. mussels were amazing. large, sweet and juicy on a lovely creamy sauce. mains were the pork belly which was a good size and cooked well, and a seafood mix. This was priced at around £17 and came with a fresh selection of seafood. puddings were a chocolate and hazelnut cake which was light and smooth. not too rich but enough for a choccy hit. sorbet was priced per scoop. sizes were large and well worth the price. staff were a credit to the owners and from the experience this is on the top 5 places to take friends out for a decent meal.a good night had and a well deserved 5 stars
