Situated in Scholes, a charming village in between Sheffield and Rotherham, the Bay Horse is a welcoming pub. It's not a big place but has a big character. Ample beers, lagers, wines & spirits to choose from & the bar staff are some of the most pleasant I've encountered in a long time. The landlord is a 'hands on' type who knows it's the little details that make any customer want to return. There's a reasonably sized beer garden & a car park to the rear. Though I didn't eat there, the food looked excellent. I'm sure to visit again and hopefully try the food. Hopefully it will warrant a 5 star score!

Hidden gem of a place, nicely decorated great food and decent realistic pricing. I wanted to give a bad review so I could get a table every week but that wouldn't be fair to the excellent staff. Highly Recommended

Fantastic village pub, really friendly staff, delicious food and the best pint of Farmers Blonde!

·

Lovely place and fab beer garden however i found that the manager was very rude! Shouting at staff members while customers are getting served. I think someone with a bit more patience and professionalism should run this beautiful pub! Disappointed 👎👎

Small village pub. Sunday lunch was the best we have had for a while. Choice of meats, choice of size ,regular or large. 1 of party had pie .All served with 4 veg,two potatoes, jugs of gravy and y/puds. Clean plates so sign of a good meal. Staff are friendly .Will certainly go again.Make sure you book.

Visited for the first time tonight with my family and we enjoyed our evening so much! The owners made us feel really welcome and we’re so friendly, truly genuinely nice people. The food and drink was exceptional and believe me I’m very hard to please! everything was homemade which makes a refreshing change. This pub is beautiful and it’s in a really pretty village. There’s a homely relaxed vibe to the place, I felt like I’d gone to dinner at a friends house! It’s also very clean and everyone’s down to earth. The landlord sat down with us and took our order and entertained us with some funny jokes a really nice man.We were so impressed that we booked in for Sunday dinner and the landlady even asked if we had any requests for desert!I feel really spoilt now and don’t think I will find anywhere to match the quality of food and attentive service we received this evening.Thank you.

Not a place we go very often even though we live close by. I've got to say we really enjoyed our meal, proper home cooked food. Lovely staff and host. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere.I've found my new favourite local pub for eating.

Really enjoyed my visit. Just popped in as was on a walk with my 4 dogs. Had a gorgeous Sunday dinner. The vegetables in particular were fantastic! Lovely and fresh and perfectly cooked. Definitely recommend. Disabled friendly. Staff really friendly and helpful. Going back as soon as I can
