Beautiful country house hotel. Lovely welcome on arrival. All the staff are so warm and attentive. Restaurant is full of character and has a good choice of meals. Plenty of parking and sited in a lovely village. Would definitely come again.

Small details spoil this hotel. Lovely comfortable armchairs but tv located far to the right, so crick in the neck to watch. I dislike shower over bath, prefer shower. Nowhere to put soap or gel when in the shower (a common fault in UK hotels). Shelf for toiletries between end of Bath and toilet, opposite end of room from basin. Hook on back of door fine for towel if you have ape arms like me but how other people manage I don't know. Cups are too small so that coffee is too strong. No choice of tea in room (I like Earl Grey). Location great although some rooms in the older part of the hotel are not insulated from traffic or party noise. Some things would be expensive to fix but several of my minor issues above could be remedied quickly and not at great cost. Staff generally are good and helpful, especially reception.

Lovely hotel. Little bit of redec required in places but the location and staff 5 star. Food and waiters etc spot on. Not sure about the recommendations for cab service to winery down the road ( well worth the trip), twice the price of the 247247 number coming back 🤔. Could have been aunties service. But neither the less lovely piece.

Absolutely fantastic stay. The room had everything you need. Restaurant and all staff go above and beyond making your stay a very special one.

Spent the night here in April 2022, very friendly staff and great food choices, free wifi throughout. Room had a bath and shower. Rooms are also accessible and lots of parking at the rear of the hotel. Great selection of beer and wines. Very quiet location. I can highly recommend this hotel

Nice location however the rooms are ancient. I appreciate that its a period property however there are no showers in the room and you must shower holding the shower head. The room we had as well had no privacy either and had a busy walkway with no proper curtains in the shower. The staff are friendly however we became stuck in Seddlescombe after no taxis being available. We asked if one of the staff could quickly drop us in Battle for a fee and they were unobliging. Quite frustrating given the price of the rooms and the standard they are trying to be as a hotel. The breakfast is okay but overall the hotel is stuck in the 70s unfortunately.

Lovely first meal with the family since lockdown. Service was second to none. Food was amazing. Only reason it's not 5 stars is that the roast potatoes were a bit soggy. However, this may be due to their older clientele.
