Dunes Bar & Restaurant in Rother

We went for the birthday of my mother in law.1/ the booking was for 13 people. The person who took our reservation was not honest enough to warn us that we will be placed at 2 tables.Not ideal for a family outing.2/ the steak was dry. The size of the steak was ridiculous. No salad, no greens, no vegetable3/ burger meat was dry4/ fish and chips had zero taste5/ this place is a scamIf you just want to grab a beer, might be a place for youIf you want to eat, go elsewhere

Food and service were absolutely excellent have been there a few times and will certainly go back x

There were 14 of us including 8 children, we were served promptly, all of the food was good, the roast potatoes were to die for. Service was excellent.

Disappointing. Whilst the staff were friendly enough, the food was Incredibly expensive for what it was. The promise on the sign outside of 'home cooked' and 'locally sourced' could not have been further from the truth.The pate of the day was clearly shop bought and the prawns in the pawn cocktail wet and limp.A really disappointing experience for the price paid.

Very poor fish and chips which has made me ill. Tasted like it had been (over)cooked from frozen and yet the batter was very stodgy. The worst meal I’ve had in years unfortunately.

Basic food options although my huge serving of lamb chops and vegetables was good. Staff were friendly but customers were loudly effing and jeffing all evening. Probably wouldn't go back.

We have just eaten at the most wonderful restaurant, staff were friendly, very reasonable prices and the food was absolutely amazing thankyou all for a wonderful experience definitely a place to visit x

Great family owned restaurant and bar with excellent service and a good meal. I was pleased they even had a fish dish for a dairy allergy sufferer (fish fingers). Good portion sized meals including the scampi.It has a pay and display car park and is a good walking distance from Camber sands beach.

Older female staff was very professional and friendly.We ordered fish and chips with a drink. It came to around £12, that’s more expensive than London.Fish, crispy and the chips were thin, well seasoned and crispy too. They served with peas which were soft and well cooked. It was a standard fish and chips but don’t expect something delicious.

Nice little place near the beach of camber sands. The food was good as we had warm baguette with ham, with salad and chips which were great to eat put on the patio.The staff are a mixed bunch the lady who had just started working was very friendly and made sandwiches for the kids instead of baguette as they are to little. The old grumpy owner was totally unhelpful and we would have left. But that's the experience we had and could have been different if we were middle age and Caucasian!
