Great service, very friendly and welcoming. Child friendly. Lovely, quality food at great value for money. Thanks to Becky, Shan and everyone else involved during our visit today (I hope I spelt names correctly).

Roast dinner on Sunday recommended. Very nice staff. Veggie options not great, especially on the children's menu. Family friendly garden.

Superb! Staff are lovely, the owner is very accommodating and the chef is excellent!!! We are never disappointed, the food is very, very good and reasonably priced. Lovely pub with a nice big beer garden. Definitely recommend, and they're dog friendly :)

This is hands down the best veggie roast that I have ever had. My wife had the beef roast and was more than impressed. The staff were excellent and worked their socks off, as it was very busy (completely understand why it was packed). The food was amazing and you will not leave here hungry. Well worth a visit and we will be returning in the very near future. Value for money as well. Just excellent!Visited a second time and the meal was excellent again. The only criticism we do have is that even when the bar is quiet and the restaurant is busy with minimal staff, the waiting staff are left to run their socks off while bar staff have a leisurely time serving the odd customer or preparing drinks for orders. Would be good to see other staff supporting the waiting staff when it is busy!

Lovely country pub, couple mins walk from Battle Station. Good choice lagers plus couple real ales and great food menu. Also good friendly service. First time in there as a convenient meet with couple friends, won't be the last! Definitely recommend!

Big disappointment. One gin glass for whole pub! One type of tonic! What's advertised on their menu on their website you can't have and menu we were given, half not available, so you can have fish and chips, curry (but careful as they don't know if its spicy or not) steak or burger! Half puddings not available so only got choice of 3! No coffee! Such a shame

Great food, friendly staff, toilets a bit on the grubby side (not too bad but could have been better)! Overall, really good!

Appalling. Stay away ! Never experienced such poor service and arrogance in a pub.I note your reply to my review. Please be aware that I took the trouble to call earlier in the week and on the day in question, early afternoon to confirm that you were able to accommodate our group of ten. I was told that there was a function in the garden but that we could eat inside which we were happy yo do. We were never advised that your kitchen would close. On arrival at just past 4pm we were very annoyed to be denied an opportunity to eat. We were told that the kitchen would open again for food at 5pm so we ordered drinks and patiently waited. Requesting menus a man appeared who was stressed and said he was the chef and no one had told him that we were there. He was impolite and said he could not provide food . Obviously at this stage I was very annoyed. I had my 21 month old toddler who I was waiting to feed. The chefs response to this was - “ don’t pull that card on us”. We were treated in a very disrespectful way. There was no manager on site to complain to - the chef announcing that he was in charge. Needless to say other parties that I bring to this area will not use your establishment for refreshments.
