Spur of the moment we decided to have a small breakfast at the Sovereign Light Cafe. Wow! Nothing 'small' about it. Really enjoyable, both of us had the grilled tomatoes, perfectly done. The Espresso with a dash of milk was perfect also. As usual when eating out, we checked to see how clean the cutlery and plates were. They passed muster, all nice and clean. Thank you Sovereign Light Cafe staff.

Disappointed. Out for a walk and decided to give it a try. Waited an age for the food, chips were luke warm at best and if you want extras like sauces, you are charged for sachets. Need to up their game with service, food quality, prices and customer service. I got the feeling as a customer I'm the one who should be grateful for them serving me as against the other way round. Such a shame as a great spot. Maybe they don't category as enough people will stop as there is little else around at that location.

The older lady who works in there is incredibly rude, not a very nice environment. Was recommended to us as a dog friendly cafe, we took our dog along and asked someone working there if it was okay to bring him in, he’s a larger dog but very quiet. She said no problem, she has no issue with his size as long as he was quiet. We took him in and sat down at a table and he lay down under the table and started dozing off. Another lady who works there, older with curlyish hair (?) came up to us and was incredibly rude saying ‘the sign says SMALL dogs he shouldn't be in here, it’s unhygienic’ (surely all dogs are unhygienic then?), we explained the person we spoke to had no issue with it and said he was welcome in as he was quiet. She then kept making comments about his size/breed and kicked us out. Definitely wouldn’t recommend to anyone, very hostile environment.

A great place for a bite to eat or a ice-cream..but the service, although friendly is painfully slow, I'm sure before covid they would take your order & you would collect your tea's or coffee outside, same as the food ..but the girl serving on the till, not only takes your order & money, but also makes the hot drinks & butters toast, cakes etc while you wait, which creates a long queue.

Great little beach front cafe.Only had coffees but saw the food coming out and it looked really good, particularly the fish and chips . Helpful, efficient staff.Good coffee.Would have given 5 stars but the only drawback was had to queue 20 minutes for 2 coffees. Will return though.

Staff attitude not friendly. Sitting outside because of dog but refused proper cups. Do not like drinking out of throwaway cups! Table filthy. Will not return.

We went there on Sunday as we fancied an all day breakfast. My friend had a vegetarian one and I had an English. Both were well cooked and presented. When you consider that you can pay nearly £4.0 for a slice of cake at some places I think that £5.95 is really good value.

I visited the Sovereign Light Café because I'm a fan of Keane (Music video it was featured in) And this place didn't disappoint. Lovely food, lovely staff and great views. Good to see them busy too.
