We had an excellent meal. Delicious, fresh and clearly cooked in house. Deserts to die for! Will definitely be visiting again.

Very disappointed in this pub. We tried quite a few of the other pubs in the area this week, which were great, and unfortunately this was by far the poorest. Lady serving didn't seem too interested in asking us if everything was ok, which it clearly wasn't as we sent most of our mains back (which we rarely do as we aren't fussy generally). Very overcooked and dry meals, hardly edible, not sure if anything was fresh.

Lovely food, the walk from Rye was very easy and paved, nice location, very welcoming and polite stuff! Very clean :)

A few postives from our 1 night visit, a very quick check in and the woman at the desk was very helpful and informative in getting us a taxi at short notice and we had a full english breakfast which was great and the waitress was very quick in taking our orders. A few things that me and partner was not so happy about but did not have the time to talk to a member of staff as we had family event to go to was that the room cleaniess was not to a good enough standard including the bath and bed side tables. I also think it was important to mention that the room was very cold and the room radiator and plug in radiator was not working.

For the money that me and my partner payed (£121) for our room it was abysmal. The walls are so thin that you can hear everything that's going on on the other rooms. The matress was like sleeping on a sheet of paper it was so thin. The room was very dusty. One of the worst things is that when they are getting the fresh sheets and towels ready for the next guests they are just played on the floor outside the rooms which people have been walking on all day. So we've been wiping our faces and sleeping in dirty sheets. The only redeeming factor is that the breakfast was quite decent otherwise it would have been a 1 star review!

Went for a Sunday roast. Food was lovely and I liked the option of having a large or small portion. Nice selection of desserts.

Very over priced at £120 ...room was very small and in need of paintwork, chips on all wood panelling and light coming through the curtains. Stairs outside very creeky and the door to the bathroom very noisy. The bathroom itself was very old fashioned and there was a chip in the bath which had been very badly repaired. The whole room needs a good polishing and paint. Bed was very springy and not brilliant at all. Breakfast was a 25 minute wait for main traditional breakfast and really not the best quality. Disappointed overall for the price...bed and breakfast quality for a premium price

A really quirky place to stay, our family room was lovely and bigger than it looked on the website. Had a bath and shower in the bathroom, which is fab as I'm a bath person but hubby prefers a shower. Plenty of towels and good size. Although obviously clean the towels did have a musty smell. The bed is smaller than we are used to and if you are over 6ft the foot board could be an issue. The room was spotlessly clean and when serviced restocked and made fresh and tidy, which was a real treat. All the staff we came across were friendly and happy in their work. We ate in the restaurant and chose from the main menu and the specials board. All the meals were tasty and well presented, the homemade pie was massive and very tender and the hunters chicken was lovely and cheesy. I often find theres not enough cheese on them, but not in this case. The breakfast team were super friendly and efficient, a well run team.Breakfast was really tasty and filled us up until evening. Can I suggest a jug of water in the breakfast room to save the staff having to go to the bar each time one was required. And Kim you were right our son only managed the full breakfast on the first morning, then went on to smaller choices.😂The room also had a DVD player and there is a good range of DVD'S to choose from. Which kept me 12yr old happy. All in all this place was a super find and I would definitely recommend a visit, thank you for a great stay.👍🙂

Saw this place while out walking- popped back tonight for dinner and wasn't disappointed. The lamb shank was delicious, as was the steak & ale pie. Friendly staff that didn't overwhelm checking on things every 2 mins. Would definitely recommend and will be back the next time we're down this way.
