The food was nice and there's a good variety of both vegan and vegetarian dishes. The service was good and the servers were friendly. Downstairs the ceiling is low so be prepared to duck if you're over 5"5! But the decor is good so it's worth it!

Amazing little pub & Dog friendly. They open at 12 & there was already a queue & we can now see why. The staff were really friendly & the food was fresh & really tasty. Will definitely return & try a roast as that sounds amazing! Great little pub

Very good food and brilliant service. The staff manage to work smoothly together. ( i thought that they were all from the same family).

Really nice pub we found on the way back to Rye from Hastings. Good selection of food on the menu and some nice well kept ales. Good friendly service. Will definitely be going back.

·

A lovely quintessential pub in the heart of the countryside. Roaring fire and friendly staff. Menu looked good too.

·

Had good quality meal. Very friendly service. With great sense of humour. Only comment, game pie served with an excellent beef gravy. But the flavour of the gravy overpowered the taste of the game meat in the pie.

My first visit for quite some time, I had an excellent meal, choosing the halibut.Service was great, our waitress was very friendly and outgoing, which helped to make the evening. One thing I do remember from previous visits was the height of the ceiling, a little too low for us taller people, so stoop where possible!

Pub with food however the dining experience is better here than many local pubs, frankly leaning closer to a restaurant in terms of service, dining room and style/quality of the menu. On my recent visit the halibut (£19.50 from the specials board) resembled a dish from a fine dining eaterry over that of pub grub. Worth a visit.

Lovely little pub in a beautiful countryside village. Great food options at good prices and really high quality. Went there twice in two days because it was so good.I heartily recommend the seafood platter.

Good food and a nice pub atmosphere. If the accommodation is as good as it was when we stayed a few years ago, it's the complete package for visiting the area.If you're into that sort of thing, it was quite safe from a Covid point of view, with a one way system etc.
