Burgers and fish and chips are nice. Chips are freshly cooked. However, the seafood platter is a quite disappointing. Prawns have no tastes at all just like being repeated boiled too many times. Oysters tastes good but not very professional shell opening method. So I had accidentally chewed small pieces of shells hidden in the oyster juice.

Generally really nice meal, main was good .Couple of points , menu and table could have been cleaner, oysters were good , had quiet a lot of shell with the meat and they could have been cut away from the shell, mussels were good but once again quiet a lot of shell pieces mixed up with them. However they were busy and I should imagined rushed in the kitchen .Staff were really good , and next time in hasting will book and go again .

Really good restaurant for seafood! Mussels are the star of the menu so I would recommend trying them. Service was quick and the owner was very nice. Only slightly disappointed that the dish I ordered mentioned langoustines (one of the main reasons I ordered it) but non were included in the dish I was served. Other than that, very pleasant dinner.

Problems with both food and service. Slow, staff is careless and ignoring customers even if they see you called them. Clearly they are overwhelmed but why the customers have to suffer. Before seated we had to wait 10 mins then another 10 for someone come and wipe the table. Weird that ppl who were leaving the table before us where paying after they finished their food, whereas we had to pay in advance. We ordered fish and chips, mussels, oysters. Visually the food is nice, but the taste is something else. Oysters were good. Mussels absolutely tasteless, one of the worst I ever had.Fish and chips- tasteless soggy fish, and chips undercooked inside.

I have a lot of love for whites seafood, I always make sure to make a trip there whenever I’m in Hastings. The staff are so friendly and managed to seat a friend and I on a Saturday when we didn’t have a reservation. The seafood was fresh and affordable and so much choice to choose from.

The small little seafood restaurant is nestled in into the bustling George street of Hastings old town. The restaurant has ample seating both inside and out when the weather is good. There’s lots of little snuggly areas for a more private setting or you can choose to join others at larger tables. Staff are experienced and friendly and happy to advise on food choices. Food arrived timely and hot. We opted for the chowder and squid. The chowder was a decent sized portion and came stocked with plenty of seafood. The squid, which was a special was beautifully cooked. Not at all rubbery which is always a sign of being overlooked. The side salad appeared fresh and crisp. Mains were mussels which again was a decent sized portion. It came with choices of bread or fries however we opted for bred. This was soft and fresh and a large bowl was provided to store the discarded shells. Out of the whole mussels portion, only 2 were closed which shows the freshness of the food. We didn’t opt for puddings but there appeared to be a good varied choice. We finished with coffee and had a very enjoyable evening. Overall, always a great choice of seafood available, as well as steaks on offer. 5* to both the food and staff m. Definitely one to put on the returns list.

We came for a birthday meal. We called the restaurant and spoke to Leanne who was accommodating as we were running late! As we arrived, we were greeted by the team and Leanne took us to our table and served as well. We had two squid and one tiger prawns starters - absolutely delicious! They were succulent! We then had two seabass mains, one special of three fishes and a mussels selection. All the foods were excellent and are highly recommended! The fish are fresh and well prepared. This is an amazing restaurant on a nice tucked away part of Hastings, near the seafront. We will visit again when we return to Hastings. Thank you to the chefs, management and special shout out to Leanne, on her first night back to work - absolute star!

Some of the most delicious seafood I have ever had. The service is spectacular and really makes you feel at home. If you are ever in Hastings you need to stop by and grab a bite.

Excellent local restaurant. My first go too when family visits and we want to eat out.Never once have I had a bad meal or bad service in Whites, and have been going for many years now, it hits the mark all the time in terms of food, service and delivering a great night out.The food is always fresh, good portions and such a good mix of choices, fish and meat. The staff are attentive and excellent service on this visit and my guests commented how well she knew the menu when asked.Always good book in advance to guarantee a tableThanks chefs and team as always for a fantastic evening of food

Almost certainly the best value for money/quality that I've experienced this trip to the UK. The friendly staff, Tyler and Beth, took great care of us, and even as an American I was impressed by the portions. We had mussels as an appetizer and fish pie and the meat platter for mains. Both were delicious and everything tasted super fresh. Half of the meat platter came home in a doggie bag.
