Situated below Ypres Castle & Gun Gardens is The Ypres Castle Pub. Known as Vipers to us locals.A old rustic pub with a wood fire and great selection of craft ales and beers both local and further a field., Sicilian wine on tap, Prosecco by the glass. The star of the show is ROTHAUS an absolute beautiful pint from Germany or try it in a litre size.Food is crisps or local cheese board or local meat board both reasonably priced and generous portions. The venue at the moment is only open Thursday to Sunday.A large beer garden with views over the Marsh. Dog friendly and friendly helpful staff. Well worth a visit.

Very friendly, great choice of drinks. Would definitely go again. Did appear to get very busy so may be worth planning ahead or turning up as early as you can to get a table.

·

Lovely little place. Good quality drinks (Beers, Lagers et-al) convivial friendly surroundings & atmosphere. Wish l had something similar near home!

·

Good selection of ale,no prosecco and limited gin's. Only bar snacks no hot food, jazz music playing which wasn't to my taste. Nice settings with a large garden tho.

How pubs should be. Warm, welcoming, cosy lighting, subtle enjoyable folk tunes, incredible beer from the Willy Wonka of fine ales, and just the right amount of enjoyable bar snacks. Class in spades, love it,

We stumbled across this pub whilst wandering around Rye Old Town. We had wandered to the lovely viewpoint by the castle and were in need of refreshment. We spotted the signs to the Ypres Castle Inn and decided to investigate. In keeping with much of the old town, the Inn is a lovely Elizabethan building. We sat inside as it was a cool autumn day. Whilst there isn't a vast range of spirits, the choice was wide enough that we all found something to enjoy. The Inn also does a couple of sharing platters if you want a bite to eat. We shared the cheese platter which was very reasonably priced and was absolutely delicious. If you're in the locale, it's a great place to while away a couple of hours with friends.

Good little find, onky a couple of pound to walk around but goes to a good cause

I can't rate the pub, due to C19 so not allowed inside but the garden was excellent. Well spaced tables with attentive service. Beer delicious, Spanish olives and toasted almonds went well with it.

·

Very nice place with good views. Though, the road that leads you here from the town center is a pleasure. So many houses that have true character. At the terrace you will find they have a fantastic selection of beer.

Lovely visit to the town of Rye with its cobbled streets and lovely character buildings. The town needs a bit of tlc and tidying up in places but overall it is a quaint little town.
