Magic Wok in Runnymede

Been here for 2-3 years. Comfortable restaurant with good selection of food. The food is good, sometimes it does vary for some reason, but in general it’s good. On the pricey side, but it’s 1 of the 2 Chinese restaurants you can find in Egham.

I’m Asian and I’m a local. I have been eating a lot of different Chinese restaurants in London and the U.K. the food here is the best Chinese food for me. The service is excellent. It is great to eat in or take away. Both services have never let me down. Can’t wait to going back again. 😉

Staying in the area and stupidly I didn’t read the reviews, just noticed that it had 4 stars, 4 too many in my opinion, I picked up my takeout and back to the hotel, two mouthfuls later and it is now in the bin, terrible food and as other's have said, overpriced,

Ordered crispy shredded beef in chili sauce and sweet and sour prawn balls.The crispy shredded beef was very crispy, however, this can be explained by the fact that it had virtually no sauce.The prawn balls themselves were ok but the sweet and sour sauce that came separately was unlike any sweet and sour sauce I've had - it had a brown colour instead of the usual red, wasn't sweet, and tasted and smelled strongly of vinegar. Very off-putting.Although this particular order is the second worst Chinese meal I have ever ordered, the reasons why I am not giving it 1 star is because they usually give a decent sized complementary bag of prawn crackers, previous orders haven't been as bad (they were average at most), and the food isn't as bad as 1423 China kitchen which is the worst Chinese food I have tasted.Edit: forgot to mention that the food is very overpriced for what it is.

Me and partner always come here for hot pot. The service is always good and the food amazing. Highly recommend .

It's not that flashy but its exactly what I like from a Chinese restaurant.Good grub and Chinese people go there too. It can't be that bad.

Good value food. Veg Noodles and pak choy were delicious. 10% discount when you pay with cash. Will go again.

Excellent food and service, you can always discover new dishes to enjoy their flavour.

The food was delicious and the staff were polite. One thing to note is that they give you a discount if you pay in cash. (There is a cash machine opposite the restaurant at the petrol station where you can withdraw cash.)

The foods expensive and oily.Was recommended the most expensive chicken dish. ( chuan Nan spice chicken) only for it to be fried chicken cartilage drenched in chilli oil and fried to a crisp. Absolutely no flavour but chilli.And ordered the king prawns which tasted frozen and way too oilyDead munch overall
