The Golden Grove in Runnymede

Really disappointing. No ale on tap and poor bottled choice and a very, very limited menu of burger, burger or burger, not ideal if you don't want a burger! They were accommodating and did a chicken salad for me which was fine but did cost £17! I appreciate that they are opening limited hours but don't want wastage, but a less fried option would have been nice.The worst bit though was the table of blokes with a kid who got louder and louder and more offensive as the evening went on and the staff did nothing. At one point a fight nearly kicked off which was when we left!Won't be going back anytime soon.

To say that this cheese soufflé is life changing does not do it justice. This is hands down one of the best things I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. It was so good that I couldn’t help my lunch mate finish his bacon brussels sprouts and I am crazy about all things both bacon and brussels. Charming and cozy with a lovely staff, this place is one of my new local faves.

We had Sunday lunch at the Golden Groves this week and I cannot recommend it highly enough. There’s a lovely, cosy, Christmassy atmosphere along with lovely decorations and Christmas crackers:) The food was delicious- I highly recommend the roast beef, cauliflower cheese and sticky toffee pudding. Great options for kids too. The staff were very attentive and professional. Hope to be back before 2022 arrives!

On Saturday we reserved an area in the pub to celebrate our ruby anniversary with 30 friends and family. We had such a lovely time, the staff were attentive and polite and could not do enough to ensure our day was special. The quality and quantity for the hot and cold buffet was amazing. I would 100% recommend The Golden Grove for private functions. Thankyou to the team.

Lovely outdoor space for those with children. Cheese burger and fish and chips were tasty. Children's portions could be bigger for older children not yet able to eat a full meal. Vegan burger was not nice - eat only if you are vegan. Pudding menu is very small, so not much variety. Service is slow despite having waiters and runners. Runners seemed to be around more than waiters. But nice atmosphere to have a relaxing afternoon meal and drinks.

Fantastic experience. Wonderful cocktails. Sat in the sun and ate a golden Grove burger...just sublime. Try the house made 'captains apple spiced spritz' for a whole new mouth experience! It's like a cool Christmas in a glass. Highly recommended. Ps love the fact your music sounds good and is loud enough to shoulder shuffle to the loo.

Oh my goodness, my chocolate delice dessert was amazing. As was the fish and chips. It was lovely sitting outside. Staff were very busy with the functions going on, but were very welcoming. I'd like to go again.

Such a lovely place. Came here for a quick lunch, despite having a big party outdoors all staff were really caring about us. Food arrived quickly and was delicious!

Why 5* simply because they hit the mark consistently well. It might not amazing but what you get it is flawless. It has been so long since last time I was served a burger with fresh meat. That only deserves on its own a 5*. How difficult it could be to serve fresh food you would ask?Apparently extremely difficult according to the numbers of premises proudly offering processed food. As long as they serve fresh meat burger it is a winner.I went there twice to double check because the first time was after their recent re-opening and twice it was as good - I would advise to get the one with Bacon though. It has an edge over the plain one. The list is long but I hope to hear from someone else how the rest of the carte is. You also have car park available and the inside decor is really cute.
