We always enjoy the food at this restaurant. We were very surprised that after booking in advance & giving our party's orders plus £5 deposit from each person. We were then being told that prices had gone up since we booked, a few weeks ago!! We all had given the correct monies, including tips, to our organiser, to save any problems on the night. Very disappointing.

Wife and a group of older friends visited last night - it had been meticulously organised by one of their group taking deposits in advance as there was a reasonable number of them. However on the night the pub decided they have increased prices since deposits were taken against the food that was ordered. Now prices going up at this time is just the way it is - but business wise agreeing a price and taking deposits, only then to announce a higher price at the end of the meal is just wrong. Food was ok apparently - but think twice about arranging anything in advance as they might shift the prices again and spring it on you on the night of the event itself. Not a good look really is it?

Very expensive ! 2 starters, (@£9:95) 2 mains, 3 pints, £72, I think that's a lot, estimated £60 max. Anyway nice ambience & service, seems popular being as off beaten track as it were or so to speak! Although I've lived in Farnborough Hampshire for many a year, I've never stumbled upon this place despite having shopped at Morrisons which it lays hidden behind! A new friend over from New Zealand spotted it & was interested to try so we did

Initially I thought the venue was in a strange location behind Morrisons however what they don'thave in views is certainly compensated by the menu. Great choice, possibly too much! Had the half duck. Well cooked and lovely sauce. Mum had the Salmon Wellington. Again, really well cooked and mum had no complaints. Truly amazing !! Reasonable pricing too. I will be back.

3 of us went out for a birthday meal. When we arrived and advised of the booking we had made for 3 people a week earlier, the waitress was not sure where to seat us, which was a worry. However we were offered 2 places to sit, and we chose the more quiet spot at the back near the window.I asked what IPA's they had, and the waitress did not know, so she went and found out. I appreciate new people, I was once a waiter myself, however I do feel that training was lacking and this is down to management to sort out.Other beers were sold out.We ordered starters and main course. The food was above average, 4 stars for the food, but they are letting customers down with lack of knowledgable servers and lack of stock of items that are on their menu.

Food was great, be prepared to pay high prices for anything that isnt burger and chips. Good variety and nice staff. There are birthdays at the resturant too so if you don't like singing happy birthday 4 times during your meal then give this a miss!

We visit this place quite regularly. The staff are always friendly and helpful. For the price, the food is always amazingly good. We have never come away disappointed. The quantity is also very good. With a well stocked bar as well, there is little to complain about. My wife wanted a cocktail and asked the waiter to surprise her. The resultant cocktail was very good.5 stars definitely.

Haven't been for a while (due to covid). Nice to see it's just as good as it always was! Had the roast beef Sunday lunch and it was lovely. One member of the party had roast lamb and that was just as nice. I'll try not to leave it too long til my next visit!

One of my favourite pubs in Hampshire! Visited here on two occasions and the food is always really good. A couple years ago I ordered the Steak Diane and the sauce was creamy, indulgent and good comfort food. The menu has absolutely everything from pub classics such as Fish & Chips to curries and I probably will slowly try the menu when I keep visiting. The portion sizes are massive and I would say that I preferred the steak compared to the fish and chips. Chips tasted great and the portion was just right, fish was very big but I was quite surprised there was no mushy peas with this dish. The desserts are also really good. I'd highly recommend the banoffee pie. Decor is very nice - calming turquoise colour. Atmosphere is very lively and it is a really nice cosy pub.

The menu here is fantastic and offers a wide-range of cuisine, there's something for everybody (including good vegetarian options). The atmosphere and decor was tasteful. The food was delicious, some of the best I've had. Highly recommend The Crab & Anchor.
