Food was ok but overpriced. Nice place to sit though.

My experience as a vegetarian was not at all good at this place. On our order of potato wedges with cheese & chives, a pieces of bacon was found stuck with one potato wedges. This was confirmed by my husband who is not a vegetarian. When this was pointed out to the staff, none of the staff apologized for this mistake. Second time, only on our request, they provided us potato wedges but forgot to put the chives on it, as per our initial order. I think that the management of this eatery need to educate their hired staff respect vegetarian style of life and be careful in preparing and serving food. The carelessness in serving food may cause severe health consequences if some is allergic to certain food. Or may violate others' religious preferences as well.

Hot pasties and sausage rolls reeking of processed onions, microwaved and served up in a foil lined paper bag (no plates). Sandwiches already finished at 12.30. We have decided after three recent visits to NT properties that NT catering is no longer worth queueing for. We will picnic from now on, though the picnic places provided (as here) are inevitably in the car park or otherwise badly located. I realise eating is not the main point at NT properties, but it used to be part of the fun...

Lovely service from plenty of staff, it fact they could not have been nicer. The cakes are well hidden and at first I thought they had run out!! Panic over the lovely ladies told us what cakes they had, including 2 Christmas options. The chocolate brownies were perfect! Very nicely decorated for Christmas as well.

I bought a piece of Chocolate cake which cost £3.50 at the cafe. The taste was ok but the texture was very heavy and stodgy. I ended up with awful indigestion in the afternoon so mentioned my disappointment to two different members of staff, one being in the cafe. They both told me that it is a vegan style cake so the texture is heavier but there was no mention of this on the description. They both apologised but I did not get the impression that my comments were taken seriously and I was not offered any compensation or something else from the cafe. Very disappointing.Further to contacting Knole about my experience I feel they have been very unsympathetic and just wanted to tell me that plenty of visitors do enjoy their chocolate cake! Not impressed with lack of customer service.

Enjoyed a nice lunch. We had a tuna sandwich, Italian stew and sausage bap. All were tasty. We ordered and got our food and drinks swiftly and sat inside. The tables could be cleared quicker and cleaned. Overall a nice place to catch a bite and hot drink after a walk in Knole.

The cafe itself is nice, the food is good and fresh, BUT the staff ... need to be trained properly how to serve clients - they are rude, slow (average waiting time is 10min; and it's not the queue to V&A...just 5people) and not motivated to work there at all (milk jars are not refiled, asking to repeat an order few times, cutlery was dirty they didn't even care when people told them...), staff is not polite (no "please" or "thank you"). Feels like they were all annoyed and tired. Some basic training would be a good next step. Good luck!
