The crown point restaurant in seal is my favourite restaurant in Sevenoaks because this is where I had my eighteenth birthday party there and the food is delicious. My favourite meal would have to be the southern fried chicken stack burger and staff is so friendly too.

Unfortunately The Crown Point Pub has now closed and is looking for new owners.

This place used to be 5 stars, now I'd avoid at all costs. We visited today 27/10/19, a large party of 23 which we booked months in advance. We booked as you could never normally get in on a Sunday for a carvery. Today the alarm bells should have rung as at 1345 we could have got a table for all of us 2 or 3 times over. The issues were numerous unfortunately, only Turkey left on the carvery at 1400 on a Sunday and mass unavailability on the main menu. They ran out of gammon, steak and a few other things. The manager said they hadn't ordered as much meat for the menu as the carvery was on. She also said they had run out of beef, gammon and pork in the carvery as they hadn't anticipated so many people choosing those options. The service at the bar was slow and poor. The managers husband had to look at the front of the bar to work out which beer was in which pump. The manager when taking an order for a child's desert was asked to leave the ice-cream off as the child had an allergy. She then said well I'm not happy about giving them anything they might die, look I have a folder. The food came out at wildly different times (large party so excusable). However the dishes were inconsistent, 4 people ordered the same dish all 4 looked different, 2 contained raw onions as a bed for the meat the others had cooked onions.Such a shame that the place has gone down hill as it was great and had a great carvery with decent service.

No carvery available on arrival at 6pm, very few staff, tables not cleaned or cleared. The interim manager told us that they had a very busy day and rarely provide a carvery after 5pm. This was a return visit for our family as we had been let down before but was given an assurance that it wouldn't happen again. Not impressed. We ordered our food from the main menu and everything was ok and kindly given the price of our costliest meal free charge. It's a nice place in a nice area which deserves to be run better.

Maybe it was just a one off bad night! The score would be lower but the staff were very friendly and apologetic - they made amends with a free drink (Pity I was driving)On arrival - there was no alcohol free beer - so the designated driver had coffee (a Latte) - it was very frothy - more like cappuccino- and watery - gin was not tasty and the gin drinker switched to Lager- Guinness (drunk by someone who likes Guinness) was poor enough that he switched to lagerThe Hop House 13 lager was good :-)We three all ordered vegetarian curry - with a side of naan bread / samosas / vegetarian pakora and onion bajeeThe rice with the curry was coldWorst was that the vegetarian sides were like chicken nuggets - and we couldn’t actually identify anything other than the naan bread - we tried a pub quiz identification, but no one could find a samosa or identify anything except the naan breadThe chef did come out and apologise - apparently he opened the wrong packetBut we couldn’t really tell what the sides left over were - so they were all left on the sideThe restaurant didn’t charge for the 3 mealsBtw the toilets were a bit dirty and there didn’t seem to be any soap in the dispensers

We stopped off here after a lovely walk in the woods with our 2 children and puppy. They welcomed us all, including the dog and even brought him over some off cuts from the carvery. The food was delicious; generous portions for a very reasonable price. We had the carvery which was cooked to perfection with a vast selection of vegetables to choose from. The puddings were huge and went down a treat. We can't wait to visit again, it's a 30 minute drive from where we live but well worth it. Thank you to all the staff for a perfect end to an enjoyable day out.

Seriously underwhelmed! Friday night and almost empty, though I'm not surprised. Muffled piped music from cheap ceiling/wall speakers was a failed attempt at creating atmosphere. No-one thought to warn us when we telephoned ahead that the carvery finished at 7.00pm; we arrived at 7.15! We ordered from the menu instead and waited 40 minutes to receive our 3 meals, only to discover that the '1/2 chicken with peas and onion rings', had no peas or onion rings, but a tiny bowl of side salad as accompaniment instead! Clearly not the most accomplished of chefs was on duty. Real ales choice.... well, not really, Doombar or nothing! Why did I give them 2 stars you might be wondering? Well the decor was clean and comfortable (if a bit dark and old fashioned), and the toilets well maintained also. Will I be returning? Not a chance :(

Unfortunately the food wasnt what I expected, i ordered the whisky bbq duck salad (can't remember it's full name-but was told its like TGIfridays duck salad) and when it arrived with wraps and a butterfly duck breast on onions and peppers and world's smallest pinch of salad I had to check with the staff 'is this the duck salad.. Yes they said'. It was basically duck wraps and I didn't even see them on the menu.. Albeit, it did taste OK. The staff were nice and polite but the service seemed a bit slow. We got told to not have the carvery as its 'seen better days' šŸ˜‚ the dessert was good.

Staff are really friendly. The food is good and plenty of it. There's a good selection of beers, wines and spirits. It's a large pub with various seating areas including a good sized beer garden at the back that is proper garden and very pleasant on a sunny afternoon. Think it's a chain but looks, feels and works very much like a local country pub. There's also the Oldbury campsite 10 minutes away that I'd recommend. The combination of the two makes for a really nice stay for a couple of nights.
