What a little hidden gem. We came across it when all of us (including 3 dogs) needed a half way pit stop on our long hot country walk.Staff super friendly and genuine. Pub felt like a real country pub - and the food was scrumptious and exceeded our expectations. 4 great meals! Thank you. And the dogsbwere thankful for the water bowls and chance to recover in the garden.

A lovely lunch outside in a very pleasant garden today. The staff are very nice and very efficient. We had a tasty salmon + asparagus quiche with plenty of new potatoes + a good sized salad with 1000 island dressing. All very fresh and I will definitely be returning.

Unfortunately not a great experience for me, my wife, and a friend. We stopped here for a light lunch and drinks, on a walk. The young lady behind the bar served our drinks and was friendly. We then ordered our light lunch, Tuna Baguette, Sausage & Onion Baguette and a Fish finger sandwich on granary bread. The food came out, we were sitting in the garden, we got a Tuna sandwich on granary/brown bread, and fish finger sandwich on white bread. I called the lady back, and said the Tuna should have been in a Baguette, my friend then said to me dont worry. I said to the lady it should have been in a baguette but he said he will eat it. No comment from the member of staff, she went off and came back with my sausage and onion, in a granary/ brown sandwich!!. I asked did they not have any Baguettes, she said no they all got taken at the recent Duck race, which I believe was on the 5th May?No apology just walked off!!10 minutes later, 3 or 4 people sat at a table opposite, they ordered, and guess what, the Ducks obviously returned the baguettes, as at least 2 of the party had sausage baguettes!!I can see from other reviews this is out of character from their experiences, but clearly our experience with the service today was pretty awful and embarrassing for the staff and manager when they read this.We didn't stay for a second drink, and left.

Popped in today for lunch after a lovely 3 hour walk around the area. This pub gets just about everything right. There was a warm and friendly welcome from the very pleasant lady behind the bar.Two pints of perfect Harveys Bitter, and beautifully served pub food. This is how it should be done! Thank you! Colin.

Great find after a walk. We were sat in a sunny private room full of interesting publications and artifacts. The food was perfect pub fare. Great fish and chips, and a sublime jam sponge.

Stopped by this pub with my wife on a Saturday lunchtime. I had a pint of Harvey's ale and my wife had a glass of the house red wine. The Harvey's was excellent and my wife said her red wine was also excellent and of top quality. All staff were also excellent. I highly recommend ten out of ten.
