Mothers Day set menu roast- delicious food as always. I had a generous portion of Pate to start and a huge pile of roast beef for main. Family added roast parsnips and cauliflower cheese as extras and these went down well too but to be honest it wasn't needed as the plate was packed high with veg, roast potatoes and a perfectly cooked Yorkshire pudding. Highly, highly recommended country pub.

Great food. Excellent, good value Seniors menu. Good portions of fresh prepared food including local products and produce. Warm, friendly atmosphere and staff.

Despite being totally packed out and late in the afternoon they still managed to serve beautiful roast dinners with 6 different freshly cooked vegetables. Beer was good too !Book if you want a seat to eat I think the secrets out about how good this place is !!!

Lovely setting, large garden next to a river in the summer. Very well cooked food, good variety including vegan options. Lovely evening all round.

Went out for lunch with my friend. Was offered water straight away and dirty glasses. Then after an hour we finally got our pizza it was cold my friends pizza had no chicken. The pizzas looked like they had a block of cheese on each of them. My lemonade tasted of nothing. The only decent thing we received was the dessert.

Excellent food and service! We had a full range of eaters with us, from omnivores to pescatarians, from vegetarians to vegans, and there was a choice for everyone! A great menu, lovely food, and smiling, helpful staff. What could be better?

Situated in the beautiful Kent countryside in Horton Kirby the pub/ restaurant is not that appealing from the outside ( but it is a country pub ! ). Parking is easy and once inside it has a warm welcoming bar area. Walking through you are shown to an extended area of large conservatory which is the restaurant. Selection is good and basic with three menus , a la carte, specials and a popular reduced price menu for pensioners offering a choice of either 2 course or 3 course meal and a selection to choose from. The meal was excellent being both hot and tasty. I can recommend the Lamb shank - delicious.

Booked a table for 9 for a Sunday at 4.30pm. When we arrived there was a large party of guests .This explained why the service was slow.We when we went to order there was no prawn cocktails we were offered an alternative but only because we complained (only 3 choices . We went on to order the mains and were informed a few dishes had run out and no sides available, We spoke to the manager who basically said that's what can happen at 4.30pm.As the menu on Sundays is limited it was very disappointing to have some of the choices not available. Especially as the large party had pre-ordered ahead of time.We waited 2 hrs for our main meal to be serves at this point the kids were fed up.The girls serving were doing their best ,the manager did send over a free cauliflower cheese .The food was lovely but the whole thing was spoilt by the lack of care and attitude of the manager.I have to say we have been to this pub many times and at different time and this was the first time the experience was bad.It was a real shame as it was our daughters birthday.
