We went on a lovely dog walk to get to the pub. They were very accommodating and made sure we had a table for some drinks. We didn't stop long as the table was reserved. But was nice to be out again and walk to the pub with the dog. There is a rail in the car park for horse riders to tie their horse up and have a drink too 👌

Have visited several times in the past and recently ,like to support and individual pub not a chain. Menu has plenty of choice and I opted for the smoked haddock dish, think only fish choice apart from fish and chips. Unfortunately it was a rather small dry portion and not particularly well presented with very little pancetta. Other meals looked more appealing and we'll presented. Drinks a reasonable price as was coffee overall okay and would come again but would hope possibly salmon back on menu and wouldn't choose dish again.

Brilliant. Another gem of a classic pub in the heart of Kent. Staff are down to earth, the atmosphere is relaxed and social. The food is top draw for a pub setting. Ingredients are locally sourced; the dishes on the menu are up to date twists on the traditional. The salmon main is one of the most exciting meals I’ve eaten this year. It was so packed with ingredients, it would do well as a just a vegetarian dish.Food was served promptly and piping hot, the price point is spot on. When the weather is good, given the ample parking and outdoor seating area this is a great place to relax and enjoy with the family.

I'd previously noticed this pub in passing, whilst visiting a nearby location for work. I stopped by for pint a few weeks ago and noticed that they were serving up some pretty decent looking food. So when a friend, who lives near Sevenoaks, suggested that we all get together for Sunday lunch, I suggested that we book a table here. There were eight of us, including two small children. We arrived at midday to be greeted by a very friendly member of staff called 'Jamie'. He seated us in a nice, cosy corner near the bar. The tables and seating are a good size and well spaced. You never get the feeling of being crammed into a tight spot, unlike other pubs I could mention (take note Chef and Brewer). The building and decor is everything you would expect from a typical British countryside pub. Nothing pretentious, everything traditional. Just as it should be. We instantly felt at home here and Jamie made sure we were well looked after. There was a good selection of lagers and ales at the bar. I ordered a pint of Harveys Sussex ale and it was a very good pint indeed. The owners obviously know how to look after their ales.Once our drinks were served, it was time to order our food. The kids ordered the typical nuggets and chips, as you would expect. Three of us ordered the shoulder of lamb roast, whilst someone else ordered the 42 day hung rump steak. We only waited about 20 minutes for the food to arrive, partly due to us being the first to arrive. The lamb was extremley tender and succulent. The roast potatoes were just like my Gran used to make, with a nice slight crunch to them and fluffy as you like on the inside. They also had a great colour to them. The lamb roasts were served with a large homemade Yorkshire pudding, which were cooked to perfection. This is homemade food, cooked by people who can actually cook. Now there's a rarity! My neice had ordered her steak to be medium rare and she wasn't left disappointed. The steak was cooked just how she likes it, and had obviously been left to rest for the correct amount of time. It was a great colour, seasoned just right and the perfect tenderness. She gave it a very big thumbs up. All the while, Jamie was close at hand to ensure our glasses never ran dry. This guy really is on top of his game. The service was impeccable. We finished our meals with a selection of desserts from the menu. The jam sponge with custard is especially delicious. And they aren't stingy with the custard, unlike other places I've been to.The final bill was very reasonable. £180 for eight main courses with desserts, seven pints of ale and numerous soft drinks and hot chocolates. That's £22.50 per head. Where else can you get impeccable service, fantastic ale and perfectly cooked food for that price? I rest my case M'lud. The owners of this place are obviously on the button and must be very proud. Well done to all the staff who took care of us today.

Beautiful pub with kind, friendly staff. Roast dinner lacked a little flavor to my taste but otherwise was superb. Very relaxing pub garden with no traffic. A picturesque, peaceful and green spot perfect for families. Good range of beers and ciders on tap and not too expensive. Large carpark. One of our party had special dietary requirements and they very kindly improvised a custom dish just for her needs.

Six of us had the most fabulous lunch at this pub on Sunday. It was superb! The food was excellent - we are a bunch of Moaning Minnie’s who get really irritated with bad food/service. Nothing but praise for this young team though who are doing an excellent job. I can highly recommend this restaurant (hope I can still get a table!)

The place is still a nice pub but under new management and was very disappointed with the food and service. The atmosphere was different over priced for what we had my son doesn't like peas and we weren't given an option to swap just chips and chicken nuggets. Portion size not much. Not cooked fresh as in the past but seems from frozen. We won't be returning very very sad as we have spent many happy times here birthdays and anniversaries over the years.

Wow, a most stunning location, travelled from Essex, due to great reviews, , very homely ambience, great menu, gr8 choice of beers, attentive staff, picturesque location close to Seven oaks just off the Gravesend road, lovely outside garden to the rear of the premises, cosy interior, with lots going on throughout the week, I can see why the search for " great Gastro pubs" in Kent, repeatedly mentioned this establishment, has some superb recommendations, if the weather is good try this place - and eat outside, , it's brilliant., will go back at some stage.
