Lovely tucked away pub; food is very good and the staff were great. Already planning to go back 👍

Lovely little pub and some nice walking locally to feel like you've earned your pint. Only 4 stars as haven't tried the food yet.

Great pub and food, We found them on the SEARCHFORSITES app and they let us camp in their car park in our small self contained motor home , then we rode the Tudor trail , and they let us charge our electric bike batteries, the whole local area is beautiful, try it.Very helpful pub landlord. !

Great buzz, wonderful find, quirky and traditional. Super friendly and thoughtful staff. Delicious food prepared with passion.

Visited for Sunday lunch today and had an excellent experience. A friendly welcome even though we turned up two hours early for our booking (we luckily managed to bag an early table after a cancellation). The mixed meat roast was excellent, all of us had great cuts of meat and we loved that you can order with extra roast potatoes. Lovely pints of Harvey’s too. Glad to see the place is still as good as it was last time I came many years ago. There’s a nice 5 mile circular walking route from the pub which we enjoyed too.

Very disappointing. It used to be good many years ago. We went there recently. It's location is nice with good country views. The food was terrible. I had fish and chips. It was the worst I have ever tasted. The batter was thin and soft. Not crisp. The chips were soggy as well. When I complained the staff member was off hand, hardly apologetic. I was foolish to pay.

Wow, what a beautiful quintessential British pub. The food was amazing and the staff were lovely. We were made to feel very welcome even though my group were dressed like "scruffs" ( we had just run the commando series). Highly recommend this very lovely pub.

A token of history with an idyllic back terrace - perfect for summer evenings.Certainly echo previous comments that this pub is extremely welcoming - a feel often lost in pubs situated amongst more urban areas. Has a unique relaxed feel, with extremely reasonable prices.Unlike urban pubs, however, the food is satisfactory and could be better compared to the standard set by other pubs. Having said this, equally, this experience far exceeds that of other pubs - and so it would be unjust to award less than 4.5 stars.Would highly recommend for a relaxing social evening!

Great place to come and eat, both the beef teriyaki and crispy buttermilk chicken had so many delicious flavours, shows they have a very competent chef/ kitchen staff. Pub staff are friendly and efficient, I thoroughly recommend The Spotted Dog.

Great cozy pub with a large variety of food offerings, including a children's menu. Pies looked great. Only disappointment was in chips - they weren't the thick cut ones in other photos. Small skinny ones, instead. Service was quick and friendly. Sunday lunch gets busy, but decent sized parking lot. Would like to go back in summer to sit outside with view.
