Ye Old Crown Inn in Sevenoaks

This review is only about the restaurant.We came here more or less by chance after visiting Hever Castle, not wanting to pay the inflated prices that they charge in the castle grounds.It was mid-afternoon on a Sunday and the place seemed quite busy. I asked at the bar about the possibility of getting some food. The reply was that there should be no problem although it didn't seem exactly welcoming. Nevertheless we were soon shown to a table.We had our orders taken and waited for a while, but this wasn't a problem; as I said it was quite busy and a large table nearby had ordered well before us. Anyway it was worth waiting for. In particular I'd like to mention that the roast beef was superb and served in generous quantities. You can also get wine by the glass, which is a great advantage when only one person will drink anything alcoholic.Having taken our time over the main course, we sat with empty plates for the best part of half an hour, completely ignored by every member of staff, all of whom could clearly see that we'd finished. No one asked if we wanted anything else and no one seemed to be bothered. One of us even went to the bar and asked for someone to come and help us. There was no clear reaction to this. Only after more than 30 minutes did we manage to call a waitress over, who then asked us if we wanted anything else. By that time it was too late for us to get any desserts, as we had to leave. We complained, politely I think, to the waitress about how long we'd been left sitting, and that we now only had time for the bill. She apologised but that was all.This unfortunate episode brought a rather abrupt and unpleasant end to what started out as an enjoyable visit.

Food is excellent, good size portions. Comfortable and warm room, staff friendly and approachable. We shall be back. Wife particularly enjoyed the breakfast waffle.

Stopped to have a drink after a dog walk. I was very impressed at the 'new' (not sure how long it's been there, I hadn't seen it before) outside seating area, which will be lovely in the summertime and has heaters as well for winter evenings. I would have given 5 stars but my wine could have been colder! Will look forward to a return visit when we'll try the food as well.

The crown is easily the best pub in Edenbridge. The staff are lovely, the food is insane (you have the try the tapas it’s the best!) and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. The outside space has been done up so nicely that I can’t wait to enjoy the sunshine there this summer. Couldn’t recommend it more!

Last minute booking as we had a powercut and needed somewhere to get a warm bed and a hot shower. The rooms were simple but very well appointed and clean. Beds comfy, TV and tea & coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. Would defo recommend.

Excellent hotel rooms, beautiful Mediterranean patio with cocktail bar, cocktails are amazing and nice price with an offer Mondays to Thursdays , right now a tapas menu cooked by the Spanish landlady and chefs , Sunday roasts to die for , staff are really polite and friendly . Worth a visit . We come here nearly everyday , outstanding pub .

Really lovely atmosphere and wonderful decor. The food was fresh and delicious. They have excellent staff, very friendly and kind. I recommend it. Perfect for big groups and families. We had a lovely chicken curry today. The drinks menu is wonderful too. ❤️

So good I’ve also put this on Tripadvisor 🤙🏼Stayed here for 2.5 weeks from Australia due to UK family mercy dash. I can simply say this pub is up there with some of the very best! So welcoming that during this short stay I felt like a local as everyone has been so friendly- staff and guests alike.The pub, restaurant and rooms are clean and tidy, the right amount of quaint vs modern. The staff are attentive and work so much as a team that even the ones off duty not only come back for a social drink but will help out the ones working if things get busy. Irene and Aemonn are exemplary landlords and genuinely care about their guests and staff.The restaurant does a proper Sunday roast (which I’ve just enjoyed while writing this) and the breakfasts are generous and set you up nicely for the day ahead.And to cap it all, the pub dogs and cats are super friendly tooThis will be my first choice to stay whenever I’m back in the Edenbridge or surrounding areas.My ok it regret is being here in winter so I didn’t get to enjoy the spacious beer garden and outside kitchen!

We had a fantastic stay in the Olde Crown as always ❤️❤️Room very clean and spacious … management and staff very friendly and welcoming and food is superb. I always give an excellent review, but now music on Friday night …just added to our enjoyment .. just brilliant!! …🤩absolutely loved it xxxxx ❤️Thank you the crown pub!! If you haven't been there for breakfast you need to go. It was delicious, quick and high quality. I really can't wait to see you again for a dinner meal. So warm and welcoming. Love the quirky tea and coffee tray. The attention to detail is very good.
