Came in with my husband and children age 3 and 7 and had a really a great night want to say a thank you for the staff who looked after us and had great expectations. The food was up to great standard. We definitely will be returning when back in the area. ☺️☺️

A disappointing experience. 7 of us booked for a family meal on a Sat eve which is rare for us. I must point out that the restaurant was not particularly busy at the time, well not with seated customers, but certainly with take away/Uber eats delivery drivers.I have to say the server who delt with us was very pleasant and friendly. We ordered our drinks with took 20 mins to get to us, then the ordered our starters and mains which took over 45 min to arrive. Food was being dispatched for delivery pronto and at one point we even wondered if it would be quicker to order via Uber eats! Starters arrived and they were adequate. Mains arrived eventually, but not all together, we had to wait another 5 mins for everyone to get their food. The food was very average. At no time were we approached by the manager to explain the delay in service. We had to find them and ask about delays. we were given a discount on our bill, which went some way to soften the disappointment of eating in this over price under staffed fast food chain. all 7 of our vowed that evening to NEVER eat in a ZiZZi again.

Booked a table for 7pm Saturday. When we arrived I could see that there were a number of tables not cleared after diners has left. we were shown to our table and ordered some drinks, nothing too difficult; water wine coke and 3 bottled beers, these took 20 minutes to arrive. We ordered our starters and main course at the same time, 25 minutes later my calamari arrived, my guests said I should not wait for theirs to arrive and start, I am so glad I took there advice as I had finished before theirs had even arrived, eventually their starters arrived.Whilst we were waiting (bearing in mind that the restaurant was less than half full) a party of 4 arrived, I am not sure what was said but they didn’t stay. The waitress apologised and said that they had 2 new chefs in hence why we had to wait. We then waited for our main courses to arrive, nothing after 30 minutes, so my husband asked to speak to the duty manager. He apologised saying “sorry Buddy we are training up 2 members of staff”Eventually after a 45 minute wait after our starters, our mains arrived. As we were sat near the door we could see a number of delivery drivers come in and collect their orders. It looked like they we’re prioritising delivery orders. The manager never once came to our table and apologise he left it to the waitress, yes we did get 30% deduction on the bill but the whole evening was a complete mess. The table next to us remained uncleaned during our dining experience, crayons and empty glasses left on the table.I appreciate you have to train new staff but personally I felt the manager lacked experience.

Service was slow, poor when you are left sitting for 20 mins with finished plates in front of you and the limited staff are clearing tables with no guest’s on them. Two knives still had food on them and we are not talking a tiny spec but enough for me to see from where I was sat without picking it up. You would have thought with COVID going around hygiene would have been important to a restaurant. Apart from that food was good though though I did have it in the back of my mind that if the basics can’t be kept clean are there other areas to be concerned with.

The staff were friendly and the service excellent. Unfortunately that's the end of the good points. The menu has lost the majority of it's appeal for us. They appear to smother nearly every main dish with either pork, ham or salami. The reason for this is because without this ingredient the dishes taste incredibly bland and flavourless. It's a real shame as Zizzi's used to be one our family favourites. This is a restaurant that I can no longer recommend.*Update 06 Feb 2022Visited again and the menu has changed and I'm afraid the menu has gotten worse. No courgette fries more bacon, pancetta and pork based food ingredients. If this is your food based group, this is the restaurant for you. I still can't recommend. Here's a photo of our over microwaved broccoli.

This is a long complaint - in short it was awful.Booked a table at 7 for a double date, we were seated promptly and on time, offered water and given menus then asked for drinks all good at the start, nice service. It went down hill quickly. After ordering our food through the app through two different phones one phone order went through and the other didn’t so they had to re do theres. Me and my partner got our food after twenty minuets, we then had to wait a further 20 minuets for the other two starts, trying to keep positive we didn’t mind too much. Once finished we ended up waiting at lest 20 minuets with non of us touching our food, staff had walked by many times, one of us had to end up getting up and asking for our plates to be taken, no sorry for the wait just a simple ‘okay’. Plates taken all good, bit of a wait for the mains but we didn’t mind too much again, this time the other couples mains come first, they where able to pretty much finish there’s by the time ours come, we are clearly at the same table but it felt like they didn’t know that, my partner also had to get up and ask for cutlery as the waiter had taken it and stated they would grab us more for mains but didn’t and served us food and walked away meaning he had to go find someone just so we could eat. I wasn’t overly impressed with my main but the others all seemed to like there’s. then waited a very long time to get them cleared. Pudding was the best, other couples first then not too much longer we got ours and was very tasty. Then we went to the toilet, awful. Dirty floors that looked unwashed, soap and water everywhere (probably just kids but still not nice) hair and dust in corners and everything felt a bit dirty, not nice at all. During all this (over two hours) we weren’t offered drinks or even asked for refills, I had to ask for some more water after an hour and a half and even then it took twenty minuets and I had seen the lady doing other things first. Then there was the fact the tables around us that had left had dirty plates and finished drinks on them just sitter there till we left, one table about an hour and the others a bit under that but wasn’t nice to be surrounded by. Then there was the fact it wasn’t busy, there was 5 tables at most (two tables of two, our table a table of 4 and a table of two adults and three kids) one table left very soon after we got there by our mains it was just us and a couple and still we got this bad service. No sorry for waits or having to get up to come and ask for basic things, no check backs on anything and only offered drinks on when we had just sat down and half got our coats off. It was truly awful. The people working seemed nice enough but clearly either not trained very well or they just don’t like there jobs very much I’m really not sure but it was the worst service any of us had before especially as it wasn’t busy at all. I will not be recommending this place to any friends or family as I would feel bad sending them somewhere with such little care. At least the food tasted nice. The drinks where okay, freezing glasses with room temperature drinks inside, confused at first but really wasn’t too bothered by that. This place needs some serious work. This is also the first time I haven’t tipped in years, I’m a big tipper and believe it’s nice to do so but my god I could tip this kind of service.

Lovely food but by far the worst service experience I've ever had in a restaurant. We were sat down and then not checked on once for over 2 hours. Had to ask for our plates to be cleared, had to ask for more cutlery, had to ask for more water. No checkbacks whatsoever and we were there way longer than we should have been since we would be sitting waiting for anyone to even be around to ask for what we needed. It was also not busy at all. Also things missing from the menu, the toilets were not clean, and there were 4 of us but our food was getting brought out at entirely different times. Me and my partner also ordered the same starter but they weren't even the same.On a plus note, they were very good with dealing with my friends gluten allergy. Sticker on the plate saying non gluten and something he could scan to look at food suitable for him.

Visited a few times and had various levels of food.... New chefs and changes of menu contributed to different experiences. The thing that makes it all OK is the staff handle it well and are polite, friendly and professional.... Dish Meat Calzone, King Prawn Tagliatelle.

Ordered a take away. Order included two identical pizzas. Arrived in two Pizza boxes. Pizza was cut in half however each bottom half was burnt. The burnt halves were not edible. Incidentally the two burnt halves fitted together. With so many other takeaway restaurants available I will not be ordering from here again.

Previous review was:Great but a slightly reduced menu. 4 starsAs of today won't be rushing back at all.The long term staff are great. Looks like there has been some re organisation. Times are tough with COVID, however:1 they have no spaghetti and it has been this way for the last 3 visits over 5 months and no one typically informs you that your spaghetti Bolognese is unfortunate not and it will be supplemented. No problem if your told beforehand. Seems there is no intention to get spaghetti back in stock? For an Italian restaurant, unfortunate.2 the spice level of the exsisting dishes has been greatly increased. To the point of too hot. Again if you know or can ask for a reduced spice level no issue but there does not seem to be the latter option.3 burnt food and burnt bits of bitterness is now the normal.Hopefully the burnt food can be solved.
