The staff appear a little shy but a very different type of pub with no road, was thinking how do you get the beer delivered π€

What an excellent meal! Great food. We had fish, pasta and Moroccan lamb. The local beer was also excellent.

At the age of 61 and having visited thousands of pubs throughout the UK as a member of CAMRA last night I was ejected from a pub for the first ever time along with my wife without being served. My heinous crime was not wearing a face mask although we comply with all COVID regulations . i made a futile attempt to educate the rude landlord that this was no longer a law of the country but he insisted it was the rules and marched us to the door. I will be contacting the local CAMRA branch secretary and the national body later today and urge them to remove this pub from the good beer guide.

Today walked up the hill to pop into the pub, only to see a "NO MASK, NO ENTRY" sign. No other pub in Folkestone imposes this pointless lockdown - era restriction. Walked back down the hill. (Incoherent reply from owner).

Wonderful dinner in a fabulous cosy pub with friendly owners. Dog friendly and super yummy food. We will return :)

I was only passing through and stumbled across the Early by accident. Absolute gem of a pub. Great real ale, friendly and cosy. The Landlord is an absolute star. If you like your downtime sprinkled with some insightful societal commentary, then you can do no better.

Delicious meal, wonderful staff, great company π Ron is very welcoming and friendly as it's his wife (didn't catch her name). The pub has lots of old photographs around inside and a theme matching the earl of Clarendon car (Austin I believe!). Would definitely return and bring friends. I recommend the steak!

Great pub, hidden away with friendly staff & guests. We booked for Sunday lunch & so pleased we did, as it was fantastic food, freshly cooked. We sat outside with a sea view. Highly recommend.

Probably the most miserable bar steward ever met. Such a pretty pub after a long climb up slope from sea front but so unwelcoming! Was made to feel like we had intruded somehow. There was a whist game going on in the corner so feel maybe this is a locals only pub. Sat outside and enjoyed the view. Left after 1 drink. Wouldn't return.

Great off the main road watering hole! Fab view from the outside terrace! Good food menu (didn't get to try food) and looked good when served to another table ;-).
