Lovely pub and the lady, who I think was the owner, was very accommodating as we had an appointment to get to so didn't have a lot of time. She made sure our order was taken quickly and the food arrived within 15 / 20 mins. My husband had the ribeye - the best he's had in a long time. I had the seafood linguine which was delicious. Lovely feel to the pub, and all staff very friendly. Hand sanitisers on the table and ladies toilets had nice hand soap, hand cream and Tampax! Look forward to visiting again - thank you.

Starters ok, burger as a main course was dry and the salad died a few days before. Asked three times for water, and had to go to the bar to ask for more drinks. The staff totally forgot to ask if we wanted dessert.

A really lovely old Kentish country pub, serving a fine selection of beers and delicious food. The menu is nicely varied and beautifully presented. Cosy and welcoming in the winter and with plenty of tables outside for when the sun is out. I'm a big fan ☺️.

Decided to take our neighbour out for lunch, emailed twice to book a table, neither gained a reply, so phoned to book.We entered the bar with no one to. Greet us, then finally were shown to a table near the door, very draughty, ordered drinks, then ordered food. When they brought the food the order was incorrect, but although I was advised that they would bring the correct lunch, it wasn’t a good idea as the other two would have eaten there’s , so had the wrong mea. Ordered more drinks, after 15 minutes I had to ask again to order the drinks. Not good enough for what was not a busy restaurant!Probably won’t go back again.

Another fabulous and cosy visit to The Gatekeeper...in front of a roaring log fire... bliss. Super Sunday lunches and delicious dishes.. thoroughly enjoy our treats here.

It's so nice for a village pub to provide such little details that mean such a lot. Good pub food, good beer, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit or two.

Fantastic food, lovely decor. Small touches were beautiful, scrabble letter reservation sign, lovely hand sanitisers on every table. Sunday roast and Baked Alaska to die for 🤤Friendly service 110% will be back

Beautiful, welcoming pub with delicious food and a fantastic selection of drinks. A pleasure every time we visit, the staff are always so friendly and knowledgeable about the drinks they serve! Lovely collection of gins that you don't normally see in pubs which is refreshing! The gatekeeper burger is a must-have, followed by any one of their amazing desserts! Would always recommend :)Edit: Revisit again on the 22/12/2019, food was spectacular and the pub was decorated beautifully for Christmas! Had the Gatekeeper burger (again) because it was so good! Dessert was a white chocolate and gingerbread cheesecake that was absolutely delightful. Staff were attentive and friendly. Again, would recommend 100%.

A friendly welcome, local beers and a tasty fish and chips at this attractively decorated pub. Candles on tables and a real fire burning during our visit.
