Golden Gate Chinese Takeaway in Shepway

Best Chinese in the land! Been going here for years and Staff lovely and friendly and food has always been spot on.

I’m Completely disappointed with the Service. They gave me the wrong order. I ordered at the counter after checking the menu. On the menu, my order looks deep-fried and crispy. When I got home and checked the food, it was completely different from the menu. You can see it below in the Photo.Does it looks deep-fried as is shown on the menu?????

Food was fair small portions though

This takeaway ticks all the boxes for a standard Chinese takeaway and will do a job, but it’s nothing special. My order was prepared very quickly — ready in just 10 minutes (for some that might be a good thing, for me it was a little too quick in terms of it obviously being reheated). There were also some signs of stinginess in portions — ok, so I would expect pineapples and veg with the sweet and sour chicken, but it was exactly the same with the crispy chilli beef (half of the box had this). The egg fried rice also had the least egg I’ve ever seen, must have been 95% rice. Veg noodles were good, with the smoky wok flavour coming through.Like I said, it does a job. But nothing memorable and so I don’t plan on coming back.

Very good Chinese, won't use anywhere else, very clean premises, with piping hot well cooked food.

Despite my fussy tastes, I got exactly what I'd asked for. Freshly cooked, with friendly service. I would recommend 👌

I have being going to the Golden Gate for 26 years. I have never once had a problem with any of their food. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. The food is cooked right in front of you which I not only find fascinating, but also assured me that their cooking environment is spotless, and the chefs are skilled and efficient. I have tried other places within Folkestone, but all of them do not even get close to the lovely and freshly cooked meals you get at the Golden Gate. I would not go anywhere else. Thank you for giving Folkestone such a lovely Chinese takeaway for all these years.

Golden Gate never disappoints, always a quick service and great food. The only slight negative is that they don’t deliver. With that being said I never mind driving to pick up my food because it beats most places hands down.Chicken Balls with curry sauce always cooked perfectly. Try it out you won’t be disappointed and you will continue to go back there.

Absolutely fantastic..best Chinese we have had for a log time..recommended to us and we will recommend in future...100% good..not a fault..
