Went here for my daughters 13th birthday waited an hour and a half and only just got our food. My daughter, who's birthday it was never even received her food. Their was only one waiter there but she was lovely and helpful her name was Jessica. We ordered carvey roast dinner, potato’s we’re rock hard and black the gravy was soaking the plate and the vegetables were swimming in the gravy. We also ordered a kids pizza and it had the tiniest bit of sauce and cheese and thick bread and tasted horrible. We went back recently and thought we would try it again to see if it had changed so we sat down and decided what we wanted to eat they told us to go up to the bar and order so we did but when we went to eat they said that the kitchen was closed? So we just got up and left. Overall rating would be zero but cannot put that so it has to be a one. DO NOT GO HERE.

Went today for mid week carvery.Didn't seem too prepared for so many customers, so bit of a wait. However the staff did appear to be trying their hardest to make sure everyone was happy and catered for.We had a table of 7 and the waiter (Matt) was very kind, empathetic and all round great waiter.

Have been a fee times, slack time of year so carvery was available. Only thing was it had to come from the kitchen. 3 of us 2 pork 1 turkey dinner. Brought to our table with a large bowl of vegetables between us. Pot of gravy each along with our meat, roast potatoes, stuffing and Yorkshire pudding. Only thing I missed was creamed potatoes. I prefer them more to roasted. Meal delivered to table after paying was no longer than a game of pool. And to be honest value was good along with quality. Can't wait till good weather and then I can actually get the open carvery. Am a veg lover as well as meat so like to go back for some veg. Well worth the visit if your down that way. I drove from Folkestone and can't complain.

Turned up Sunday afternoon, with no booking. Staff fit us in, and we were extremely greatful. We went for the carvery, and got what we expected.... Quantity over quality, but not terrible.Staff were a little vacant, spending most of their time chatting to each other, but were polite and helpful when needed. The 'chef' behind the meat counter was clearly overworked, and could have done with a helper. He was dripping sweat and snot, and doing his best to contain it all in tissues!

Food was vile! I wouldn’t even give it a 1 star.Kids fish fingers were so over cooked and looked like it had just been thrown on the plate , I ordered the ribs they were so tuff. The roast wasn’t much better either, stuffing had no flavour and vegetables were watery. To be honest the chef needs sacking!! It’s a joke how this place thinks it’s acceptable to serve there customers food like that. I would not recommend this place!

Will never return to this place.!!! Was taken to a table by the waitress then told to pay after the meal so went up to get are food, so while we were waiting got are vegetables as there was no meat ready, then the man behind the counter said u haven't paid and to go to the bar and pay and was made to feel very comfortable in front of other customers. So ended up walking out which im glad I did as the food looked dreadful, will never go to that place ever again.!!!! Also made my young daughter cry which was horrible to see.

We visited this carvery off season but I would guess it would be very busy in season. There is a large car park which was quiet when we visited. The Neptune is a large pub with plenty of room. It was largely empty when we visited which gave us a wide range of seating to choose from, we had a booth to keep younger ones corralled, but there were tables in a range of sizes too. The carvery was as you would expect and well presented. The staff were friendly and the food was lovely. Prices were reasonable for the main. We choose not to have a desert but they are available. I recommend that in season you book ahead as I am sure this place will be very busy

The staff are very pleasant and the food is mostly good value, however the last few times I have visited there have been fairly long queues for getting meats for the carvery. The person cutting meats on my most recent visit (who was seemingly doing their best to combat the queue) said that they had been fairly quiet and suddenly there was a rush on... on a Sunday afternoon... the most common time for families to eat a roast dinner. Otherwise low prices and a reasonable choice of foods, meat can be good but is also a little unpredictable as to whether they are tough or not.

Karen at the bar made us the most amazing slushy cocktail, Strawberry Slushy with Malibu!! My children who have severe allergies, were able to eat chips here as they were fried in a fryer on their own, with sunflower oil. This is a rare treat for them. The playground outside was an added bonus, along with the pool table for our bigger kids (husbands)
