Food was brilliant , very good portion sizes and good selection of cider and beer

Chips were great and so was the mayo.Food portions humungous, so starters quite sufficient for lunch. I got a doggy bag for mine so's I could tuck into my bbq pork slices. Very nice too. Nice big parasol so sun and shade in the front patio as wanted.

Awesome lady who runs this pub. The home cooked food was out of this world, with very generous portions. Friendly locals . Apparently the Sunday lunch is awesome. I would highly recommend this place. Definitely going back. Always best to give them a call to check availability. 😀😀😀😀👌👍

This is a lovely old fashioned pub hidden away in the tiny village of Burmarsh. There was a wonderfully warm welcome from the owners and even the regulars. We all had fish and chips which was beautifully fresh and lightly battered, as good a fish and chips as I've had anywhere. Highly recommended.

Been a few times for Sunday roast in the past few years. Now under new management. Everyone seemed to be working incredibly hard. The roast overall (particularly the veg and trimmings) was disappointing (although the roast lamb tasted ok). The ale and wine (bought a bottle) was good for a country pub. Inexpensive overall but better roast in other places at similar price can be found. Will return when nearby in the future in the hope of improvement. I hope they are just finding their feet and I wish them well.

What a hidden gem! we found the Shephard and Crook whilst staying at Daleacres, beautiful traditional pub, beautiful food, friendly staff and dog friendly too! we will definitely be visiting again
