The Bay Tree Grill in Shepway

Lovely place to eat but food barely hot. Felt like it had all been reheated. Would not visit again. Birthday meal as well. Most disappointing.

A very pleasant surprise! Walked past it many times and known about it, but had just not visited. When thinking about a nice dinner it popped up on the map and we decided to go.Decor is modern and pleasant and it is much larger than it looks from the outside. We were warmly welcomed and the smiles and friendly service never changed. It is not a large menu, but that was not a problem. The choices were good.Large variety of drinks and some good beers on tap. The bar host was very knowledgeable and was eager to explain the drink options.Food was cooked well and tasted great. It turned out to be a very pleasant night out. Shall return!

We have surprised many of our local friends when we introduce them to this very pleasant bar. The cocktails, wine selection and nice all round feeling about the place is worth recommending.

We had booked a table for 7,when we arrived no table had been reserved or set for us they pushed 3 tables together said there you go what would you like to drink ! We left

We had an absolutely amazing meal at The Bay Tree last night for my boyfriends birthday. He had the steak and I had the vegan burger, both were delicious! They have amazing vegan and gluten free options here, all labelled on the menu and easy to find. The service was perfect and our food didn't take too long to come out. We can't wait to visit again!

A birthday meal totally ruined by pure incompetence thanks to Bay Tree Bar & Grill.Orders taken, quite a fair wait for the meals to arrive.Clearly stated on order 'no garlic butter'. Arrived eventually with yes, garlic butter all over the steak. Server agreed I had asked for steak without garlic butter. He came back 8 minutes later to state it would be 15 minutes.Considering everyone else was halfway through their meals it was totally pointless so I cancelled my meal.They gave me my drink for free (very charitable of them, a pint of lemonade with orange)!They brought the bill out taking off the drink but to add insult to injury they still tried to charge me for the steak that was sent back and never returned!Obviously refused to pay for the steak and bill was readjusted.Thank you all for totally screwing up the birthday evening out for me, you must be very pleased with yourselves!

Only drank at the bar. Very enjoyable and stylish environment. Feels a little higher end than you'd expect in Folkestone. Drinks menu is solid, if uninspiring but what they do, they do well. Staff are polite, pleasant and smiley. To be fair, I expected higher prices, but I personally thought this was excellent value. I will go back and try the food. Do I recommend? Yes. Try it. Make your own mind up.

The breakfast was alright I liked the self service side of it I just wished you could ask to have your eggs cooked a different way because how they were cooking them wasn't that nice, we had a meal in the hotel restaurant too it was alright a little overpriced but was nice but it did take a long time to come out only thing I didn't like which I didn't realize they put a 10% service charge on your bill without asking which I think is a bit annoying and I would like to get it back.

love this bar and the restaurants great as well, well worth either just cheeky cocktail or two or a trip to the restaurant or both, love the purple booths and the mood lighting, staff are great and amazing cocktails, did I mention that.
