The Fish Shack in Shepway

Visiting the Fish Shack was the highlight of my day: cute little restaurant with delicious fresh seafood. I went for the Amble langoustines in a tasty broth as a starter (so fleshy!) and continued with the grilled sea bass, house salad and some of the best chips I had in a long time (I'm dying to know what potato variety they used). Well worth our visit and friendly staff. Booking recommended. Even Harrison Ford loved this place.

Food was fresh, and absolutely delicious. Couldn't ask for more than a steaming pot of mussels and a beer on a cold day. We had our meal in one of the huts outside - which come with cushions, blankets, and] a heater, and we completely forgot about the wind whipping outside! Hard working and polite staff. All in all, a really wonderful little find.

Great food today at The Fish Shack, we had langoustines for starters from the specials board and fish and chips both done perfectly. The portion sizes were impressive and surprisingly large for the price listed. The only detractor was that our online booking requested a highchair for my infant son, this had not been accounted for but was soon sorted. They were however very accommodating, even sorting a small bowl of mushy peas for him.We are very happy we found this place and are planning to come again with family in the near future.

We are following the Hairy Bikers route around the North of England. The Fish Shack met all expectations. We had the fish platter to share..A..MAY...ZING!Amble is beautiful little town with lots to offer and don't miss the lobster conservation hatchery.

Went last week then again this week. Not disappointed, absolutely fabulous. Fantastic seafood platter. Friendly and helpful staff. Would strongly recommend a visit. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Amazing amazing amazing.. everything was amazing. I have anxiety issues and with the help of a local friend, my partner booked a table perfect for my needs. The quality of the food was only surpassed by the view from my seat. An homely feeling within a quirky venue, which is right up my street. I can't wait to go back!

I had seen the Fish Shack on the tv show “The Hairy Bikers Go North” and they rated the place highly. How right they are, great sea food dishes are plentiful, I had the Chowder which I would thoroughly recommend to you. The shack is very nicely laid out, not over fussy but warm & inviting. We managed to get in without booking but if you don’t want to miss out on a truest memorable meal I would suggest you make a booking.

Great little place and the food was good but not perfect. We had the fish platter, fish and chips and the halloumi burger. The batter on the fish and chips was very dry and almost inedible. Everything else was very good though. Great service and nice view.

We heard about this place from a friend, so while on holiday we thought we'd give it a try and it didn't disappoint!Lovely fresh seafood and a lovely intimate atmosphere.We had the seafood platter which was amazing 🤤 They had run out of lobster so they had replaced this with langoustines- to be honest I was a little disappointed as I was excited for the lobster (I had expressed this to the waitress)- then they surprised us with a complementary lobster macaroni! Fab customer service and amazing food; what more could you ask for!!! Plus we could take our dog 🤩It was also amazing to see a fab chef at the helm, with some young guys honing their skills, turning out this amazing food!! What a place! 👏🏻💜

A bit of a mix up with the new booking system (they're obviously listening to other feedback), waitress immediately got the manager (again listening to feedback), very apologetic as they were full inside and we had to sit outside. Sorted us out with some rugs and drinks. Lovely meal and great, fast and efficient service. Food came out piping hot as requested (see pics - first is the stone bass special, then the sea bass special then a couple of fish and chips). Really tasty great portions, lots of complaints about too much batter online - just ask for lightly battered, simples! Give everyone a chance to sort out an error and never abuse a colleague trying to do their job!
