We found this absolute gem after a lovely day at the beach, the peach cheese cake was truly divine, a real melt in your mouth culinary delight, as was the scone with cream and jam, (all vegan) . The best hot chocolate I have had in a very very long time, the presentation was wonderful, all fresh ingredients and home made, and Ian the owner is cheerful, friendly and spot on with his delicious array of food, highly recommend a visit

We just popped into The Mortar and Pestle for some lunch. The food is delicious and such a lovely atmosphere. The cashew cheese cake is to die for. Very recommended. We'll be back :)

Homemade food, deserts and drinks - we enjoyed the pasta and curry followed by a scone and chocolate cake - all vegan

Had an absolutely lovely lunch here on a busy Saturday afternoon. The food was fresh and delicious and we received such friendly and welcoming service. We even had desserts despite being so full because they looked so tempting and we were not disappointed. This place is fantastic, we will definitely be coming back next time we’re in the area.

We had a wonderful lunch here, the food was fresh, beautifully presented and very tasty. The owners were friendly and very accommodating to our large group (including a wriggly toddler!) I would highly recommend a lunch here, we will definitely be returning if we are ever in the area!

Good selection of vegan food and drink, I had a pasta bake, blueberry smoothie and a pineapple cheesecake. The pasta was well flavoured and nicely cheesy and came with a well dressed side salad. The cheesecake was light and tasty with a very rich and delicious base. The smoothie was very generously portioned and was very refreshing.Would definitely recommend as the food was top notch and the service was friendly and efficient.

Went here yesterday, very small place to eat at. Nonetheless cozy due to the server who runs their shop seemingly solo. Great hospitality. The food was interesting. I had a mango / coconut / flaxseed smoothie for £4.50, it was a huge portion. The carrot cake was a bit overpriced for the taste, £3.50 for a square. It was beautifully put together, but it was tangy and bitter, wasn't cake-y at all. This is my opinion if course, especially since eating Vegan is a commonplace for me and I've had better. But I'm sure others will find something to love here.If I could come back to have a chat with the server I definitely would. They make the place a lovely visit!
