I expect to eat my dinner off a plate NOT a soup bowl. Had eaten here half a dozen times and always loved the liver and bacon but NOT tonight, that's the last time they will see me.

A quick visit on a long dog walk, initially for refreshment but turned into ordering multiple sides including chips, onion rings, mushrooms. We were made very welcome as were our dogs, they had dog treats on hand at the special bar they’d made in the garden.Service was excellent, the place was really looked after.Food was very good, with the slight exception of the chips, which were very slightly undercooked, but still a very enjoyable visit and will be coming back when we can.

Wonderful, friendly atmosphere, together with really friendly staff and a really tasty and well prepared steak and mushroom pie with seasonal vegetables, followed by a huge portion of delicious apple crumble and custard.A really enjoyable afternoon spent with wonderful company.Thank you to everyone who made this visit a truly memorable one.I will definitely go there again.

Fabulous fabulous place...great welcome & hospitality from the start.Awesome food...and VERY dog friendly with a dog bar serving dog treats plus a beer pump for water! How cool is that! We went for lunch on the Friday and loved it so much we returned the following evening for a birthday celebration.Check out the mushrooms in garlic sauce starter. Awesome!Menu had a good choice of vegetarian options. 👌🐕🐕🍹We will be back!

Terrific! Called in for lunch on Friday, enjoyed it so much we went back for a Birthday Dinner the following evening (sat). Staff are cheerful, helpful & welcoming and this place is awesomely dog-friendly. There's even a (free) dog-bar outside with an array of treats & a couple of real-ale hand pumps, dispensing fresh water (!) for your dog's bowl. We'll be going back to the Rose & Crown whenever we re-visit this neck of the woods, which is likely to be often.

This place is outstanding in all areas. Greeted and served by John and Rio. Made us feel very welcome. Service was fast and efficient. Food, wow, it was amazing not only in taste, amount but value too. You definitely won't be disappointed. We will definitely travel over an hour to go again. Thank you all so much

Visited for a late lunch. When we arrived we were greeted by a pleasant gent who guided us to a table & took our drinks order. We chose soup of the day (cream of veg) & a filled baguette 🥖 each. The soup was served nice & hot & it was delicious. The baguettes were served with salad & a few chips, both were stuffed with filliing. We washed lunch down with a nice pint of shandy.Overall, a lovely place, good staff & most of all the food was excellent. Recommended

Stopped for an unplanned lunch during a nice local walk. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the fish and chips was excellent. Everything was fresh, well cooked and generously portioned. Dessert was the same. The pub takes their Covid restrictions seriously but we were still made to feel safe as well as welcome. Thanks you very much
