Had dinner here on a Saturday night. The food was good, service friendly with good cocktails and reasonable wine selection. The portion size was right too. All in party enjoyed their food. Could not face dessert but interesting selection. Had a seaview which was nice - although bear in mind there is also seating outside. Would recommend.

We have stayed for a number of years. It is close to the tunnel. It is dog friendly plus. The breakfasts are good. Okay the decor needs a bit of an upgrade but the rooms are clean and comfortable. We had checked when we booked that food was available but on arrival there had been a function and we were told that the kitchen was closed. Bless them they opened the kitchens for four of us. As a stop off point it's great. You get what you pay for. Love you sandgate xx

Really enjoyed our stay in this quirky hotel. Friendly and helpful staff and lovely breakfast. Room and bathroom both spotless. We'll stay here again, Thank you.

Brilliant staff. Too many little niggles which spoil the quality of the stay. Broken door lock, non opening balcony door. Broken bathroom tiles, hard to flush loo, no milk pencil sharpenings in drawer, flithy window, 45 minutes wait for breakfast.... Sorry but it's all true.

I have only visited this as a lunch or drinks stop; and once for pretty good Christmas dinner. I have no knowledge of the hotel facilities. Very nice bar room with comfortable seating. Good range of drinks and coffee. Decent snacks, pleasant, helpful staff. Great stopping place on coastal walks.

I've only ever visited the cafe but the place has always been almost empty with a single member of disinterested staff on hand.Service is okay at best; the staff seem to as a rule just hide behind the bar - and seem a bit inconvenienced when you ask for stuff. This includes 'can I pay for the things you reluctantly served me please?'Not particularly comfortable as a place to sit and chat either, with stiff leather chairs and no arm rests, so a bit of a shame all round, I have to say.

All the staff were very helpful and good. The breakfast was very good. The rooms had a beautiful view of the sea. The rooms were a good size. Tge negatives are thatvthet beds aren't very comfortable, the windows let quite a lot of noise through. Overall it's a good, nice hotel.

Had an exceedingly good couple of days in July in a sea facing room. ALL the staff were exceedingly helpful but the evening meals prepared by the chef were 5 star quality. Both the breakfasts and bar prices were good. Well done Lynne and staff

The shower in the bathroom didn't work. Insanely hot room - I had to remove the thermostatic valve on the radiator to cool the room down. Food would be OK if it was served hot. Breakfast was OK though.
