Lovely country pub on Romney Marsh. Food was good and friendly staff

A lovely friendly little country pub with a great welcome. Good outside seating area and an interesting menu although we didn't sample it on this occasion. People around us certainly seemed to enjoy the offerings. Definitely worth a visit if you are passing

We had 5 days in the UK seeing family for the first time in 5 years. We chose the star inn based on reviews. Food was okay, mixed reviews around the table. But it definitely wasn’t family friendly. Our 18 month old was making slightly loud but happy noises and we were told to tell her to stop. So I had to take my 3 kids outside, not the family reunion we had hoped for.

What a find! A great Sunday lunch and amazing pudding. Toffee Apple Crumble and custard was delicious.Highly recommend a visit. Reasonably priced, and friendly staff.

Eaten here loads of times and the staff, quality of food etc excellent......until tonight when I was finally convinced to try Dave's fresh cod and chips....OMG you have to eat this just once in your life. Absolutely the best I have ever tasted.

Our fantastic Christmas Dinner today at the Star Inn St Mary on the Marsh. Our starters were delicious prawn and crayfish salad and duck/orange pate the warm rolls were a great addition for the pate. The main roast turkey with all the trimmings was cooked to perfection, so nice and tasty and hot too. By now we were feeling rather full for the afters Christmas pud with custard for one and ice cream the other you could of rolled us out of there as so full no room for a coffee at all.A big thank you to all at the Star especially Teresa and Dave for laying on a good spread and making our Christmas. Enjoy your well earned rest everyone who gave up their Christmas to look after/serve your customers today. Very much appreciated.

Not a great time, as it was a wake for my father in law, but emotions aside what a great place. Bar service was exceptional, friendly and very welcoming, the drinks cold, not expensive and forthcoming. The food provided whilst not menu food was hot, delicious and plentiful. We really couldn't have asked for any more, but we got peace, quiet, some beautiful views on top. I have not given 5 stars before, this place is well worth going out of your way to visit.
