Punch Bowl Pub in Slough

I visited for the first time on Saturday, got there early to avoid the rush (5pm). Good parking, easy access but when I first walked in I felt like leaving and going elsewhere. The place is very run down, could do with a good refurbishment! It's an unusual concept of having a Thai restaurant within an English pub. But I had read about it online so I knew what I was going for.There's alot of options on the menu but my family and I ordered a range of vegetarian dishes. I couldn't believe the portion sizes were so small. Som tum salad was on a tiny plate for £7. Thai green curry was very watery and only had peppers in (no other veg or tofu) again £8. Veg tampura was too oily. Panang was again watery. The nicest dish we had was Pad Thai. Overall everything was small and expensive. We left dissatisfied, which I wouldn't have minded had it been cheap and cheerful.We ordered NO drinks, just tap water yet still the bill came over £40 for three people. There's also no music or ambience, just felt like we were in a dark place.The servers however are very sweet and kind, so for that reason we didn't say anything.

I have been a regular here at the punch bowl for the last 17yrs. The food has always been the highlight. Jenny and her team have always provided excellent service and food, time after time. If your in the Heathrow area and want authentic Thai food this is the place to go. Great job guys and thankyou.

Lovely pub/restaurant. Friendly atmosphere and staff. Delicious Thai cuisine. Perfect portion sizing. Not too spicy or sweet though additional spice level can be arranged. Music not loud. Adequate carparking facilities. Easy access.

A lovely simple Thai restaurant. Nothing fancy. Just good Thai food. Simple ordering system. Choose a style of meal like stir-fry or thai-pad, then select a protein which can be something like vegetables or chicken or beef or pork or squid or fish mixed seafood. You can add extras like a fried egg.Super cheap, good food.

Used to be the place for delicious, authentic Thai food, but not anymore, unfortunately. Service was prompt and kind, however the food could have been a lot better.

Fantastic authentic Thai food. Relaxed pub atmosphere. Staff wonderfully friendly and great service. Extensive menu and reasonable prices. Thoroughly enjoyable and will certainly return when in the Heathrow area. Thank you for a super meal tonight.

I didn't expect a Thai restaurant/Irish pub in the corner of London airport area, but it was better than my expectation. I was there during break time but the owner made an exception and served food. And of course, the food I ordered -- Pad Thai and Red Curry -- was pretty authentic. I sure will go there again.

Love this place. Been there, quite a few times and loved the Thai food served there every time. It's a nice little pub which caters to families too. Nice crowd, nice drink, nice food, what more do you want.

Good cosy place with authentic Thai food. Highly recommend
