Lovely independent coffee shop, warm friendly owners and the sell fresh decent roasted coffee...we need more shops like this on our high streets and long may they trade.

Great coffee, interesting art, pretty good snacks, awesome jukebox if you like 80s New Romantics, post-punk and Madchester. Not many seats. No WiFi. Nice place to have a quick coffee and a snack with a friend, definitely not somewhere to go if you want to open a laptop, thanks to the passive aggressive sign.

Rudest owner ever (the man not his wife). Called the police as he was so agressive and insulting. Never went back and will never go back. Saw one of his staff in another cafe and they left because of him. I think this is unacceptable. Don't bother to go.

Love the vibe about this place. And SO different from the chains. Personal favourite and love the occasional eclectic drinks and food options. Top coffee.

Visited here last month for a coffee between appointments. Ordered and paid for a flat white at the counter and this was brought to me at my table. Decor is basic and simple, assorted tables and chairs which are not particularly comfortable so the place doesn’t give you the feeling of wanting to stay for long. The coffee was good but the overall service and experience was just okay.

What a shame!I love the coffee in Benedict's, and particularly enjoy the lemon drizzle cake, banana loaf and ginger cake. I have lost count how many visits I have made over the past year.Unfortunately, on my last visit last Friday, my friend was told that we could not stay and eat at the table as they were for lunch orders only. My friend then asked if we could use the very small 2 seater table next to the toilet. The reply she received was a begrudgingly 'yes' but we could tell it was not really acceptable, and perhaps we should have left at this point, but we had ordered and paid for our cofgee and cakes. We felt very embarrassed. Interestingly, over the next half hour the empty tables remained empty and so we were crammed in the corner unnecessarily. My friend said she wouldn't return after such an unfriendly action, and quite honestly I don't think I will. They also have several notices around stating that no Wi-Fi and no laptops etc. are allowed. The chairs are uncomfortable and the tables are rocky and a bit scruffy so be prepared!

Dogs not welcome, keep walking to "the Cape" which is larger and more welcoming. When asked why the server said "health and safety", what a joke. She then scuttled away. Even Costa let you in to order with a dog, The Beech House love dogs too and their coffee is excellent. Never again.

Good coffee (they don't dump sugar in it like costa/starbucks), very friendly staff, convenient location and awesome food.

Lovely independent coffee shop with a good food selection too. Friendly service and pleasing decor. The only snag is the volume of the music. My friend and I had lunch there, and could hardly hear each other speak - it was so loud. I did ask politely if it could be turned down, but I couldn't tell the difference. Unfortunately I left with a headache so I won't be returning. Such a shame.

Independent coffee shop with lovely shabby chic decor.Serving Monmouth coffee.A great alternative to the chains nearby. As with most venues in the UK, the music is generally too loud, forcing people to talk over it in an echoey environment. Compounded by a staff member who loves to whistle loudly from time to time.
