Nice food and friendly staff, when the sun is out the garden would be nice to drink and dine in.

Beautiful pub but the food was very bland and overpriced. Also one of the waitresses was very clueless, asking us about drinks without offering a menu, who does that? Maybe she was new and needed more training. Definitely not worth the service charge but it was added to the bill so what can you do...

Had amazing meal with ladies from walking group 18th November 2021…. Brilliant staff from taking time to book to taking into account individual requirements, also looked after a large group perfectly … very attentive, friendly & professional . Thank you all for accommodating us all !! Runi 🚶🏽‍♀️🚶🏽‍♀️

Tried the new winter menu today with friends. Great Veggie chilli. Amazing looking home made pies and a magnificent fish and chips the size of a whale. My favourite place to dine with friends. Loved the beautifully decorated home made desserts. Traditional old school crumble and sticky toffee and presented with love! Staff always friendly and hospitable even when it is often busy. Thank you Green Man Team!

I went here with family for a Sunday roast and they delivered a delicious one. Everything was perfectly cooked, great potatoes just how you want them, beef just the right shade of pink. If you enjoy a good roast it's definitely worth a visit and the effort trying to find somewhere to park as the area is very popular with walkers.

Stylish pub with good menu unfortunately didn't deliver today.Waited over half an hour for food turns out order hadn't been placed. Not sure why 3 waitresses didn't notice how long we'd been waiting with knives and forks and no food ! Weren't even offered a coffee whilst we waited even longer.Maybe we were just unlucky but nevertheless disappointed.

Nice spot for lunch, friendly staff. Was rather busy, we didn’t book but managed to get a table. Good atmosphere and nice location. Veggie options Available. Cost: ££

Overpriced and had to wait almost an hour (food ordered 4pm Sunday) for food to arrive. Would have been fine if they had explained that beforehand

Overall, a really nice experience. Quite surprised to have to give a card to the host to dine. Menu was OK, (few gluten free options) but we landed on some items while enjoying an inexpensive decent Rioja and some Rebellion beer. Things got interesting when our starter arrived; really well-seasoned fried cauliflower with a creditable chilli sauce and lovely mint-dressed salad. Tasted waaay better than the menu description and really got our attention. Then wifey enjoyed a huge, crispy chunk of pork belly over some wilted spinach on lightly-truffled chive mash with a nice jus to moisten and season everything up. The chorizo jam was delicious and totally elevated the dish. I enjoyed my fresh sole fillet served over nice roasted asparagus and new potatoes in a creamy seafood sauce. Not really dessert eaters, nothing really noteworthy so we enjoyed some sorbet. Overall it was decent value for money and we will definitely return, the fish and chips flying out of the kitchen looked awesome. Josh was a friendly host and I’d recommend the food.

I booked a day before before and wanted to go to The Swan Inn but, they had no space. We had visited The Green Man before and when I called the gentleman said he needed to check if they had a table, he came back and said they did. I asked if they had a turnaround time, they did 1.5hrs, which I wasn't too keen on. He said don't worry you can stay for 2 hours. However, they didn't make us vacate and we were there for 2.5hrs. I'm not liking the turnaround time restrictions being imposed; when you go out for a meal you don't want to be rushes, especially as you can't have a drink now.I'm so glad we chose The Green Man, the staff were fantastic, so friendly, it had a lovely atmosphere in the place. We had to ask for water 4 times before we actually got it but, the staff were so lovely, I didn't mind. The homemade fish pie was delicious, it's one of the best I've had. My partner really enjoyed his burger. The only reason for 4 stars because they didn't have a great dessert selection, it was very disappointing. We will definitely be back.
