Simply amazing, from staff to food and drinks. Food is absolutely delicious, staff is very friendly, ever attentive and very professional and drinks list is very extensive (we like that, unfortunately 🤣). Simply put, you just know that every single person working here actually cares about what they do and customers experience matters above all! We are very happy, returning, customers

Perfect setting, perfect atmosphere, with a warm friendly and truly sincere welcome from the attentive staff. The Food is absolutely outstanding! I would definitely recommend the fish pie, generous helpings, cooked to perfection. My partner was amazed by the chicken burger, so tasty and the whole presentation of the food is exceptional. We had time to relax and then order a sticky toffee treat for dessert! The whole experience made my day off work complete. Me and my partner went home feeling happy and satisfied. Lovely venue, lovely food, lovely day! z

My experience at this pub was abysmal, and I feel it is within the interest of the pub owners to be aware of the ‘quality’ experience they are selling to people in the name of ‘good food’. I ordered the smoked salmon open sandwich. They spared one tiny slice, wafer-thin, placed over a soggy and stale piece of granary bread which tasted days old. My mum and her partner ordered the steak fillet sandwich, again with one tiny piece of meat. It’s as if they were rationing their food out the back and saving on the portion sizes. The waitress was lovely but the only one on duty, therefore our side of fries arrived by the time we had almost finished our food. The fact the bill came to almost £70 was pretty painful as we definitely didn’t get our money’s worth. Disappointing, stingy portions and soggy food. I left hungry!

Visited for first time last night with work colleagues. A nice welcoming place with a great ambiance. However I felt let down with the quality of the steak for the price charged. I was in a party of nine and after ordering a bottle of wine during the meal which didn’t arrive one of the party ended up leaving the table to order from the bar. My dessert also never arrived by which time I wasn’t fussed. Overall my experience was nice place, overpriced and let down by service.

Nice venue. Food was nice, but service a little slow...even with my extra covid patience! Staff were helpful/friendly, especially as we were a table for 10+ people! Would go again.

Had a lovely evening meal with friends and a good choice for a gluten free meal for me. Danny, the assistant manager was very knowledgeable about gluten free and the only restaurant I have ever been in which is certified by Coeliac UK. Lovely ambiance and good service considering they were very short staffed. Reasonable prices and I think most of us had 3 courses. Will definitely recommend and will be visiting again.

Elegant provincial decor and comfortable atmosphere. The staff were friendly, attentive and helpful, when undecided on wine offered a tasting (good Manager) and wide choice of delicious food. All round lovely evening.

Mixed impressions. Food was generally good though 2 out of 3 pheasants were tough and a little blackened at the base. Didn't spoil our enjoying them though. Great service on the phone when booking, on arrival and by a guy serving mains. But sadly service at our table was a little slow at the start and dreadfully slow at the end. Perhaps our waitress was new? But missed lots of things and had no sense of urgency. Did she really have to just stand and watch three coffees come out of the machine.

Beautiful pub, really inviting. There is also a GF menu which was nice. I had prawn cocktail for starters, the bread was not toasted which I'm guessing is because they don't have a gf specific toaster. The prawns were lovely though. The main I picked was fishcakes which were ok but probably wouldn't have it again. The best was the desert, sticky toffee pudding... That was awesome! The service wasn't great but appreciate we were a party of 10 but still, room for improvement. So felt it was expensive.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon for an early dinner while in Lockdown but, allowed to dine outside, luckily they had a table as we hadn't booked. The food and service were 5 star. The food is some of the best I've had. I love my food to be hot, not warm, not right temperature to eat but piping hot and I'll let it cool down and this is exactly how it came out; which was perfect as we were outside on a chilly day.I had the pie with mash. The mash is the best I've had, smooth and buttery. My partner had the fish cakes which were nice and light. The service was fantastic, polite, friendly and timely.I'll definitely be coming back to see what the ambience is like inside and try something else on the menu.
