Toby Carvery in South Bucks

I do like a good carvery. So I went here twice

Staff were very friendly and helpful, chef was cheery and friendly with everyone, took pride in his job, very nice atmosphere, clean and tidy, only down side was car park, could do with resurfacing, big pot holes and lots of standing water in what could only be described as looking at lakes. Will happily return, was a very enjoyable visit none the less

I’ve been coming here for a few years now. Very good roast dinner and I always know what to expect. Sometimes it’s a long wait for staff whilst dining and can sometimes be long to get a table even if you have booked. However the food is very tasty and always fresh.

I have just recovered from the wonderful evening we had at The Ugly Duckling. What a great night. The service was impeccable. All the staff were amazing. I am a coeliac and the chef was waiting for me with a clean plate and serving spoon. He advised me what I could have and I was happy with all that I could eat. I was only missing a green vegetable which would have been wonderful, but I totally understand seasonal veg. I did not lose out on taste with the swede and carrots. The vegetarian gravy is gluten free so I had that, it was lovely. I was allowed to bring in my own GF yorkie (even though that was awful as my cooking is bad for yorkies!) and they were extremely gracious in the fact I had also bought my own mint sauce and cutlery.There was 7 of us and it was a historical moment as there were 4 generations of my family at the table for the very 1st time. Everyone enjoyed the food and drinks. From the ages of 12 to 82 none of us had a complaint.The Ugly Duckling is a lovely outlet with car parking and disabled spaces, you enter your reg to park for free. The outside was lovely with a heated garden/seating area which I sat in and it was very comfortable, even with the cold weather. The toilets were good. There was two sets and a disabled one, so no need to queue. I saw no dirt or grime anywhere either.For dessert, some of us ate in and some of us were so full we were offered a take away. I had the flourless chocolate fudge cake, which came with a pot of custard. The takeaway containers were fantastic. I did not eat my cake until the next day and it was divine.The whole night was made exceptional by our waitress. I would like to apologise now for forgetting her name, so sorry love, you were absolutely fantastic and we will definitely be coming back.Five stars all around. Great for families, couples, anyone really and the most important fact...... GREAT FOR COELIACS.

Clean tidy, relatively quiet even with the kids. Unlimited breakfast would have been better with some haloumi, they made veggi sausages to order so had to wait otherwise would have been 5 stars.

Have been visiting ever since Toby Carvery opened here. Friendly, clean and very helpful. Carveries great with good choice of veg so you can have your 5 a day. We look forward to meeting up with friends each week -Covid permitting. Really missed our roast during lockdown. A big thank you to all staff. Highly recommended.

I've been here a few times with family members as well as with my friends when were hungover on a Sunday. The staff here are amazing and offer a brilliant service and all round nice people. I would highly recommend it for lunches and dinners

Well, I have to say this is a great Toby, due to the excellent staff, & the way they interact so well with each other!This was my first visit to this restaurant & it was well worth the extra miles, as this isn’t my closest Toby.A warm welcome, great service, good food, excellent ambience & lighting (sounds odd, but it means a lot) all made for an excellent experience & one I would drive those extra miles to get to.Many congratulations to excellent team work to all members, seen & unseen.I look forward to to many visits in the future & would recommend this place to everyone.

It was very interesting experience. We've tried and I do not think we will repeat again. Although, staff was lovely, place very clean, highly occupied and chefs were amazing.Food was typical English cuisine and a bit too bland for our taste buds.

Went here 2 weeks ago for Sunday roast with my daughter, 2 grandsons & new baby. Although possibly the busiest time to go, the staff were so friendly & helpful. We were given a booth to have space for baby equipment etc which was very welcome. The staff couldn't have been more supportive & patient as both boys have allergies & the 4 Yr old is type 1 diabetic.The food was of the excellent standard & we all look forward to going again!
