Costa Coffee Henley-On-Thames in South Oxfordshire

A Costa is a Costa, but what makes this place special are the staff. The always cheery chap that works in there lifts spirits (perhaps he doesn't realise the difference he makes to people, but it brightens my day every time). And about a month ago I was in there when an elderly man dropped his sausage sandwich and then had a fall when he tried to pick it up. The staff were brilliant, and wouldn't let him pay a penny for the replacement sandwich they got him. That little bit of kindness was noted and appreciated by all of us.

Bit of a mess today.We had 2 drinks out of 4 wrong which were corrected after. Many other people's orders were wrong too. It was busy.

Coffee menu as expected in any branch. Very spacious store. The counters seem a little empty at times. The team are usually lovely and cheerful. Clean store.

Very quiet. But the coffee was perfect Also very clean and the staff friendly. Didn't give 5 stars only because lack of atmosphere.

Not a very good experience for quality, service and product in a very historical town of Henley-on-Thames.I had a salad bowl and coffee. Male barista told me that it’s cash only because both card machines were not working. He gave a dinner spoon with my salad as he said there were no forks available. The spoon was soiled and dirty so had to ask to wash it. He also asked me if I would take it in the paper cup? I said no cause I was eating in but the female barista served me in paper cup and had to ask again to change it to proper cup and saucer!No serviette was given. When asked, she had to go back and open new packet and brought me one. After all that my flat white was lukewarm. Very disappointing indeed.I was there for about half an hour and the tables were not cleared in and outside the shop during this time.

It's generally been nice when I've visited here. Not normally much of a queue, but if there is you still don't have to wait for long. Nice coffee too.

Good coffee, good service...BUT marked down as the carpets in the seating area had not been cleaned for a very long time!! Filthy in fact. Ground in food and stains and loose food remnants all over. Put us off being there AND they had only just opened in the morning. I don't think Costa employ cleaning specific staff, relying upon baristas to do it when they can. A lazy attitude to cleanliness!!!
