Hof's Bar and Dining in South Oxfordshire

Fabulous party here for a friend. Food was absolutely delicious and guests were still talking about the sea bream after the party! Hofs were so helpful and accommodating, giving first class service. The room at the back is light and full of character. Absolutely recommended for a party or any visit and they do their own wine.

For those who like to eat meat, this is the place to go; they have butter which is so delicious. I highly recommend this place . And please don't forget the Hof's wine It's just amazing together.

Really nice vibe - I felt like the entire team really cared about our night out. There was live music and we all had a little boogie - no dramas and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended 👌

Absolutely SHOCKING experience at this establishment this evening. Came for a quick dinner with my husband and son. The restaurant was empty. The Owner Chris Hof was drunk and confrontational. My husband went to the back of the restaurant and I had my son in my arms and I was verbally abused and insulted and made to feel extremely uncomfortable and vulnerable in front of his staff and then when my husband returned he continued to square up to me and verbally assault me. We decided then and there not to stay as it was clear that he was intoxicated. It is unfortunately a known fact that he treats his staff very poorly too which is why you will have the feeling while you are being served that they do not wish to ',be there' or to 'work diligently. 'We will not be returning.Absolutely appalling.

Good service friendly staff.Never a bad meal, food is very high standard.Check out the original police cells in the back.Amazing choice for dinner.Service is 5 star.

Came in here around 4.30pm on a Tuesday afternoon, fairly quiet, and received a warmwelcome. A friendly staffed place, with a smart bar, lovely furnishings and nice atmosphere.Dog friendly too, and our pooch was provided with a dog bowl so he was refreshed as well as us!Would recommend this place to others.

Always greeted personally...& Service is excellent...food is very good.. especially the steak. A bar lovely to pop into for a drink or full night out. Really recommend HOF'S & often bring friends here.

Recently moved to the area and thought we’d give this place a go. Ended up going the full hog and have the sharing meat board with their own wine. Everything was superb.All staff were spot on, owner came over and introduced themself. We went back the next week and were remembered.Great atmosphere. Great beers. Great wine and great food (heard their cocktails are great too).

Came here for my wife’s birthday and it was absolutely amazing, yes there was a few hiccups with the food, but nothing major and besides they were very apologetic and done everything they could to make up for it. The food is top shelf and the staff is amazing. We will be back for sure. The dj was a great bonus as well and played some right ol bangers.

I cannot overstate how EXQUISITE the food was, just what I was hoping for. 🤩 OK, now for the rest... Service was... weird. We arrived before our friends and went straight to the table. When our friends arrived about 10 minutes later, the Manager (who had just seated us), offered to show them to a different area in the bar for a drink first! Strange. I don't know if something weird had happened last night, but our table was one of only 3 covers, so it was hardly busy. We had to remind staff to bring us water, our friend's first cocktail was missing the prosecco shot, and our food took forever to come out. We were offered bread while we waited, we said no thanks, but bread arrived a while later anyway, I think because they knew our starters were delayed. I would've preferred a quick "we're having some problems" explanation. I felt sorry for the young waiter, he was keen, but it kind of felt like he'd been given a notepad and told to get on with it. He didn't know how to pronounce some of the key dishes, and he didn't know what was in them. We had starters, mains & puddings, and it was ALL AMAZING. We weren't in a rush so it worked out. We're definitely going back. I'm just hoping service will smoother. I didn't get photos of the starters because we devoured them as soon as they arrived!
