We had our wedding reception in the Alice restaurant and it was the most memorable experience we have had in our lives. Both Undine and Anca were incredibly helpful and arranged everything for us, so we could just enjoy the moments with our family and friends. The food was stunning and the Chef deserves a applause for his work.Overall, there is no better place in Oxford for a wedding reception!Stunning, the whole place has its charm and glamour!

We had the most incredible evening at The Alice last month. It was a night we will never forget. This is hugely due to the fantastic first-class service by our host Steve who went above and beyond to make us feel special and well-tended to. It was my mumās hen do and I had asked for a good table. He made us feel cared for from the moment we arrived and took time to share his untapped knowledge of the restaurant, the wines and the food. You could see his passion for his work and attention to detail. The food was all incredible and the venue absolutely spectacular. Steve even took the time to show us the various function rooms and share the hotelās heritage. I canāt say how much this evening meant to us. We will be sure to come back!Thank you to all the staff and a especially thanks to Steve for making us feel so special.

The two of us had the trout to start, cod, a steak dish, and a chocolate mousse to finish. The trout was a phenomenal, exceptionally well-balanced dish, and so was the dessert. The rump steak, however, could have done with a bit of a better crust and the sauce could have more clearly expressed what bone marrow actually is--although these are very minor complaints. For wine, we ordered a bottle of Chassange Montrachet (2018) from Roux, which was⦠weird. Very minerally and dry, with a linear acid structure, uncharacteristic of Chassange, really more like a Puligny. Then for the red, we brought our own bottle (1995 Angelus). The two major complaints I have are both wine-related: (1) The wine list is very limited and the prices are *extortionate*. These wines, which are by *no* means rare bottles or hard/interesting finds, are being marked up 200-300% (but it was my birthday so, whatever); (2) the glasses are just quite sad to drink out of (think mock-Zaltos which has all the form but none of the function). The staff are all genuinely interested in wine and very knowledgable, so although the restaurant did not have a sommelier, I felt safe in their hands. It just makes it a bit of a pity because there is so much potential with the wine. If these issues were fixed, the Alice would no doubt be the best restaurant within a 20km radius, by a large margin.

This restaurant is terrible, the service attitude is terrible and the manager of their restaurant is the most rude person I have ever met in the UK,and she is kind a racist! We arrived at the restaurant at 5:30 and were told we would have to wait until 6:00 for dinner, that's ok I can fully understand. But when we got back to the restaurant at 6 o'clock and asked where we could sit, the female manager started repeating "we have no place for dinner" to us aloud. After we told her that we had been told by their waiter to wait until six o'clock to dine at the bar next to us and asked several other questions, she kept repeating this sentence as if she didn't understand What are we talking about. After I repeatedly told her that we were asked to wait by the waiter, she actually said "I didn't tell you anyway"! She was very rude and had a sarcastic smile on her face, very impatientļ¼My friend was also very angry because of her rude attitude and asked her name for a complaint (apparently), she actually said she couldn't tell us her name and said she was the person in charge here. Isn't that ridiculous? And that's when she said the first "sorry", which I believe was because she found out we wanted to complain to her.And only then did she inform us that we can do bar meals on the other side, which means she doesn't even want to offer us a usable seat if we're not going to complain to her, even though there are still seats available. We left the restaurant after this, obviously I didn't want to spend a penny for such rude people. We were told we could dine in half an hour, but really just wasted our time and was insulted by such a rude person. I wouldn't recommend anyone to dine here unless you want to waste your time or be scolded by rude peopleļ¼Such disrespectful racists should not have any jobs in any industry!

This place is a must-try for those visiting Oxford. The food here was absolutely incredible, came here with my partner & family late on a Sunday afternoon and decided to come back the next day. I canāt fault any of the food we chose, it was all delicious! U will not regret

Celebrated my friendās birthday here, what a fantastic experience! Everything was perfect from food, service, to the little surprise (a chocolate cake) at the end. The bill came with a book which was very original!

Few teething issues on food and service on a quiet Thursday night ( understandably as is new). Such issues as incorrect cooking on beef ( asked for medium got rare), no "dashi" or girolles in mushroom starter, was just a plain mushroom soup that came garnished with button mushrooms. No charcoal mayonnaise on salmon starter ( tasted just like store bought mayo??), dark chocolate dessert was grainy and artichoke starter crisps were extremely salty. For a near £200 bill for dinner for 2 it has left a sore point which I didn't want to raise at the time as was a special occasion. Staff unsure but doing a good job. Give it time will amazing once up and running however as all framework there.

I'm so pleased The Randolph now has a restaurant and Chef that delivers. My wife and I had a meal a couple of weeks a go and we loved every mouthful! The food is exceptional as was the warm and friendly service. It really was a great night from start to finish and having a good chat about all things food with the chef at the end of the evening was great fun. We will be back!!! Matt and Amanda :)
