Delightful place. Did a reccy for a future visit next time we are in the area. We were visiting from Essex. Only had a couple of drinks, but had a very nice chat with a couple of significantly younger locals who were happy to sit in the sun with three old codgers. Lovely pub, lovely village. Nobody's fault, but loads of pollen around. Doesn't go well with hay-fever and asthma but we will go there for a meal next time.

Excellent food, great service. Atmosphere warm and friendly. Only down bit was the huge TV in the restaurant part playing the football... mango sorbet was awesome.

Chanced upon this country pub after finding it difficult to get a last minute lunch on a Monday. The food was excellent (fish and chips and a great ploughman’s) and the service great too. We sat outside with the dogs and they even had a barrel of water for the, and gave them treats!

The pub is located in a pretty village with plenty of walks in the surrounding countryside. The decor was eclectic. The menu had a number of options that appealed to our party. I had a burger which was good, the halloumi salad also went down well. Prices were slightly higher than average.

So normally I like to give good reviews for country pubs, the two staff were very friendly and nice , but the owner was a tool, I can not say what I truly thought of him on this.So I met some friends for dinner at the pub, this was four adults and three children one very young. We were given a table near the window. Then after ordering and starting to enjoy or meal we were asked to move by the member of staff, who said the owners friends are coming and they were told to move us by the owner because his friends want the table. So we moved,When you got kids it's not the best thing to do especially when they are small. Then the owner came over and blamed his staff saying they were useless. Now why I say the owner is a tool is this, if your staff have messed up.Do the common decency and own it.You manage the staff it's your fault.Don't blame you staff it's poor management. And also don't then talk to your friends loudly at the bar bragging on how you can move a group of people and kids, because your friends wanted a table, we do have ears and can hear what you say.Doing this just makes you a tool !On the plus side, the pie was good, kudos to the chef.Shame the owner a tool.

Friendly staff, good beer & service but poor food. We ate here for the first time last night, I had the slow-cooked beef which was just a mass of fat, bone and next to no meat (a shame as the gravy & veg were tasty), and my partner had fish & chips which came with stone cold mushy peas and soggy undercooked batter. When we were asked if everything was OK upon collecting our plates at the end of our meal, I explained the problem. The waitress said she'd inform the chef, but that was it. No apology and no discount on the meal. Shame, but there are much better places to eat locally.
