The black horse hotel in South Oxfordshire

Shower not working. Location good, but over priced. Staff pleasant enough, but the ambience was unprofessional and dodgy. Checked in for 2 nights at the small bar, which had some very drunk customers, even at 4pm. Entrance and interior is shoddy, all a bit tired and cheaply converted - no double glazing and poor sound proofing. Shower not working. Poor low pressure plumbing and showers. Party in the bar below with incredibly loud music, drunken shouting and singing, literally filling the accomodation above. Bar is a loud, poorly managed drinking den - not pleasant. Building felt unsafe as the key coded main entrance door was not secured and constantly left open. No staff on site overnight. Never again.

Lovely variety of drinks, nice area to sit indoors and outdoors. Clean toilets and big screens for sports .

Stayed for two nights. Room was clean and warm and staff were nice. Ceiling is low so even though I'm a little short it was a challenge in the shower 🤣🤣. Loved it and would go again

Bring your ear plugs. Room was facing front street and was very noisy! Awake most of night. Plus room just ok. Not worth the money. Only thing going for it is it’s close to centre of oxford

I stayed last minute overnight for work & found the room clean & well maintained. Landlord was friendly and helpful and they serve a half decent pint as well!

Love this pub! An amazing find in the heart of Oxford. Faboulous crowd, great staff and reasonable prices. We had a fantastic time. Thank you for a fun night. Shall be back!!! It's a must for anyone coming to Oxford who wants to experience an authentic pub with amazing food.

This is a hidden gem sitting just outside the city centre but within view of Oxfords dreaming spires. A comfortable pub with a decent sized garden out the front. This is more than worth a visit.

amazing old pub. eaten in there about 20 times now and have never had food that wasn't perfect. location is great being just a 2 minute walk from magdalen bridge. without doubt the best landlord for miles.

Great location just across Magdalen bridge from the centre. Just crampsed and run down rooms. Poor service eg no one there when we left perhaps due to covid-19. Bit then unlike kondon hotels we stayed at earlier in the week they didnt discount room price which didn't feel like good value especially given hotel was empty.

Beautiful place with amazing food and great choice of Beers. Great service with very helpful and friendly staff that couldn't do enough for us. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was absolutely stunning. would highly recommend and will definitely be back for more. Thank you all
