Had breakfast with pot of tea. Very tasty food. Bit pricey but first class quality and the service was incredibly friendly and welcoming! Have booked again for Sunday lunch with the wife!

I want to be more positive but the price of our meal says no ... For Β£80+ I expect more than over done roast spuds and a cold room. The service was good, very good, and the lamb was beautifully cooked. It's the little things that count when you get to this price level and for me that's where it went wrong(ISH).

Really enjoyed our stay here. Rooms are very modern and clean as well as being well equipped with hairdryer, iron, board toaster and coffee machine/kettle. As we booked direct we had a complimentary welcome drink and a breakfast the next day which was very very good! The staff also arranged for some French toast for my pregnant wife as the breakfast menu wasn't to her fancy. There was a little road noise as we were in the room closest to the road but this was only noticeable at a reasonable time in the morning. The fridge in the room was a little noisy too but I am being very picky here.If your wanting to go into Oxford it's about a 15 minute drive or about Β£20 in a cab to the Westgate shopping centre.Would absolutely go back, terrific value for money, excellent rooms and amazing staff. The dinner menu looks excellent too, and if the breakfast quality is anything to go by it should be top notch.

Sat in the outdoor eating area which was lovely with overhead heaters. The starters were wonderful with a great selection, the Sunday roast was well cooked and fresh grated horseradish was great. Staff friendly, welcoming and attentive

Great meal. Good service and really clean. Atmosphere was really good, good value for food. Cocktails were a little bit on the expensive side.. highly recommended and we will definitely be back π

Room was immaculate, tastefully decorated. Bathroom was very clean. I would have preferred a proper kettle rather than the coffee machine. Very apologetic when My room wasn't ready on arrival and I appreciated the free cocktail πΉ.Interesting breakfast!

Greated by supper friendly staff on a busy Sunday afternoon. Got shown to our table & within 5 minutes drinks and food order was taken.. I must say that this is the best tasting food I have had so whilst being in the Uk..Portions are quite big but better than being too small.Well done chef and team. Keep it up , we shall return. π

Its no secret that this restaurant is more pricey than most but the saying you get what you pay for is absolutely correct in thus instance. The food was amazing, six of us all demolished our dinners, I then ordered the bread and butter pudding, I was a bit dubious about the Β£8 price tag.... I dont think a word exists that can tell you how totally gorgeous it was. I eat out regularly and this is without doubt the best dessert I've ever had. I'm going to be dreaming about that pudding for months

The chequers was a real find. They kindly squeezed us in at short notice and Maddy and the team looked after us very well. The food was excellent and the service was very attentive. I'd recommend the scotch eggs and the steaks.

Wonderful roast dinner, literally one of the best I've had. Lemon meringue dessert was undercooked and melted on the plate but was edible. Great wine selection too.
