We went for lunch on Bank Holiday Monday and had the set menu. The staff were so friendly despite it being very busy and we sat outside with our dog who had a water bowl brought to him. The food was excellent and good portion sizes and it was hard to choose what to eat as the menu had so many options. Thank you we will be back!

Unfortunately I had a deeply disappointing meal at this restaurant yesterday. The salad was not fresh, the duck appeared to have been re-heated and extremely dry. The chicken milanese came with a lots of sauces on top which were not described on the menu and were not to my personal taste. We paid the full £85 despite the fact that most of the food was left. I'd prefer to avoid the confrontation of complaining. Its a big shame as prior to covid this venue used to be excellent. I hope it can find its way back to its former glory days.

Food was tasty and generously portioned. Wine list a little challenging with too few by the glass and not enough knowledge from the staff. Service generally was not as good as I remembered.

·

Excellent food and excellent service. We stopped by midweek for lunch, the whitebait and the duck were delicious, followed by the venison. No complaints at all.

·

Great food, plenty of choices. Staff very good.

The ambience and the service was lovely. Staff is super friendly and courteous. Only a couple of things that could have been better - some more vegetarian options possibly and I found the food a bit more oily than I would normally expect. But it was very tasty so nothing much to complain about.

This was a wonderful place to go for dinner. We went when Anthony John Clarke and Dave Pegg were performing in a marquee with a very atmospheric starry roof! The service and food were excellent, we have not been before, but will certainly return, with or without music. I would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Lovely place with super food. Had to leave early but will definitely go back again soon. The fish curry with coconut rice was heavenly

·

Delicious food and extensive menu to chose from. We arrived on a Sunday without a booking and they happily accommodated us outside. The sea bass and builders tea creme brûlée were both excellent.

·

Spectacular. Just one of the most delightful food experiences at this hidden gem. Inspired locavore cuisine and glorious cocktails at this ancient pub hidden away down a wee country lane framed by hedgerows. The staff make you feel like part of the community and are obviously in love with working there. Make it your next foodie destination.
