Lovely hotel and food. But the thing that made the experience is the staff. In particular the Maître d. I can't recall his name unfortunately but he was so lovely and caring. Genuinely made our experience. Will be back

The spit roast duck with apple sauce and rich duck gravy, the fresh Dublin bay prawns breaded and fried with tartare sauce, the lobster Thermidor, the grilled diver sole on the bone is as good as it comes.

A classic. Always a wonderful experience - delicious food, great wine list, beautiful ambiance and super professional staff.

They say the food is great & you might even spot a celebrity or two, I know Chris Rea eats there...

Quiet on a Friday lunchtime, amazing decor and setting, fine food, old fashioned menu and not really a place for vegetarians

It was a beautiful place, the service was excellent, however I felt the prices do not reflect the food.

This place was a treat for my family and myself from 2007-2011. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the waiting room near the fire pit, watching the ducks roast. It was quite special. I came back last summer, post-covid with my husband (his first time) raving about the duck. Due to covid, they no longer roasted the duck by the fireplace (fair enough!) and moved to an oven instead. I was assured that it was still just as good! Needless to say it wasn't. It was dry and everything was bland. It missed the sweet smokey taste of being cooked by a real wood fire. The only saving grace was the view. It was still quite special, but the service and food isn't what it once was. I will be returning again after some months to see if it's changed because I really do not want to write this place off for what I hope is a one-time mistake.

Fabulous food and service. Great location on the river, staff were impeccable. Food was great, I'm diabetic and so often struggle with the added sugar in restaurant food but the food at the French Horn was just fantastic, well prepared and fresh with no additional sugar. I was hoping that my 10 year old daughter wouldn't eat her entire rack of lamb so I could finish it but it was so nice she polished it off.

Unrecognisable restaurant that was once simply superb. It’s expensive but you already know before you book a table.A few weeks ago we visited for lunch and were extremely disappointed by the service. The initial welcoming by the lady owner was as always, impeccable. She is wonderful. However from that point onwards we felt like we arrived at a different fine restaurant. The waiting staff, only men, were very poor. The lack of attention, professionalism, customer service and a very dismissive attitude, ruined what was supposed to be a great lunch. They lacked charisma and they looked very very bored. The food was average and nothing like the food we had there previously. One annoying issue is the fact that no main course comes with side dishes, for example the Dover sole and the chateaubriand come with nothing! When you spend almost £600 for four people, I think you would expect much, much more.Next time we will probably go back to the Waterside inn or somewhere else and that’s really a pity.
