The food and service were excellent. The tables are well spaced out so you are not on top of everybody. The only criticism we had was that for a family friendly pub there was not a children's menu. We went on a Sunday and had three young children with us and their only choice was a smaller portion of the roasts on offer or Scampi. Not all young children want a roast with it's fancy vegetables and Scampi is not something many children would choose. We would not recommend this pub if you have young children.

Lovely meal today for my daughter’s birthday and Father’s Day. Service was great too.

Really fantastic food, excellent service, and great beer. Really hard to find a fault to be honest.

I had the pleasure of returning to The Highwayman Inn after many years away and what a surprise was in store. A warm welcome from Lou' and Klaudia was the first introduction into the new attractive surroundings. The restaurant was spotless, the tables nicely arranged for some intimacy with glasses and cutlery ready to be put to good use. I must mention the linen napkins, not paper tissues, my tell tale sign that a restaurant is serious. Then we came to the wine list and menu, just the right amount of choice on both to choose from with delicious sounding recipes. So, we came to the real test of what did it all taste like, well we were greatly pleased, quality food, expertly cooked by Maddi' and tasty, really tasty. We will definitely be returning to this latest addition to the areas culinary excellence.

Exceptionally good food! I had prawns to start and bass after. Although I didn't have a desert, my friend had the Highwayman's mess which looked quite the opposite! The service wasn't bad either, although that's understating it. The waiters were concientious, polite and more importantly, knowledgeable about the food and wine. The pinot noir was a good choice and they sell a selection of the best local ales (Rebellion being one) and a lovely pint of Guinness. If you go here, you won't be disappointed. I had an evening meal, so can't comment otherwise but I'm keen to try their lunch menu.

Lovely place! Their food is excellent as well as their services . I've been there many times, tried most of the dishes and deserts and definitely I will continue to go. I highly recommend this place if you fancy a delicious lunch/dinner and quality time with friends/ family.

Food delicious and service excellent, but some of the locals very unfriendly. Would be reluctant to return for fear of upsetting those who clearly think they deserve preferential treatment. Were made to feel very second class.

A group of 9 of us had Sunday Lunch at the Highwayman yesterday and it was fabulous! It was super busy and fully booked so we thought we may have to wait a while but the food was delicious and very reasonable priced and the service was so good! Attentive, quick (but not too quick) and so friendly. I cannot recommend highly enough. We will be back - thank you so much

Great pub dates back to 16th century with new extension. Always as I have remember 33yrs ago when I was student in Reading. Located off A4047 and the drive there is always rewarding with the great view of English countryside to appreciate. Now with great kitchen and menu. Enjoyed the excellent cooking with my family . Friendly owner and staff, will help me keep my fond memory of the lost and found pub from the bikers club 33 yrs ago.
