We just stepped in 3 mins before kitchen closes at 2pm on a weekday, however the kindest waitress and the kitchen staff still accepted us. The warm gestures and excellent service with efficient speed of cooking makes us feel so professional in this lovely countryside pub. Totally deserves their 4.6 stars on google map! It’s definitely a place to relax and enjoy while any boring and stressful Monday slipping away. Will definitely come back again to try other dishes.

Brilliant! We stayed here overnight and also ate & drank in the pub too. The food was excellent and there was a lovely ambience too - the team here have done a fantastic job. Lovely autumn getaway

This is first a pub, secondly a restaurant and thirdly a place to stay the night. Treat it as such, and it's OK. The room we had was clean, a little basic, the heating was broken ( the management apologised, gave us an electric heater and a free bottle of wine to be fair and we were not cold ), the beds are on the small size and the walls are thin, with some noisy plumbing.Food is very pub average - suspect much of it is mainly re-heated ready meals from Brakes or some such. It is ok but lacks any inspiration. Service was very friendly. Breakfast full english had a very wet mushroom and under done toast. First coffee was good, second one wasn't. It's that sort of place...

Accommodation was nice enough and I'm sure it's usually the quiet country pub as Advertised but on this occasion that wasn't the experience I had. When I arrived I found that the whole pub had been hired to cater for a wedding, for us this meant that no bar or food was available and a very noisy night whilst stuck in our room. Some advance notice of this and an opportunity to cancel our booking and book into some other quiet country pub would have been nice.

We booked a lunchtime meal via the website to meet some friends and we were all very pleasantly surprised by the location, the building and a wow factor when we walked in. The meal was lovely and service first class. Well done and thank you for keeping your menu all week. Good luck in the future in these difficult times.

The staff were extremely attentive and delivered fabulous meals in a lovely pub. The food was superb, faultless. From local asparagus & new potatoes, to delicious steaks with amazing sauce and pan fried cod & vegetables. Those of us who had room for a pudding were well pleased & the rest enjoyed delicious coffees. A local pub that we shall definitely return to. Thank you
